Censorship of alternative sites?
Hi,
Just curious to know if sites or streaming from sites like Coast 2 Coast AM (a website for an alternative topics radio station in the U.S.) would be censored? It's hosted by a Middle Eastern man who's half Lebanese, half Egyptian. Some Egyptians find him offensive because of his beliefs on how the pyramids might have been built (i.e. aliens) but neither he nor is his site are banned/censored in Egypt.
There are topics that are considered "Conspiracy Theory" in the U.S. (i.e. like some thoughts on 9/11 or the economic crash in 2008) but are commonplace in Qatar.
What would be considered inappropriate or disrespectful to Qatar to surf even when online at home?
My husband and I enjoy listening to the C2C radio station and satellite radio as well. Some stations, such as Howard Stern, Opie & Anthony and Ron & Fez are considered offensive to some Americans, but may not apply culturally to Qatar thus not be offensive. For example, if they made a joke about a Redneck, some in America may be offended but I imagine it wouldn't even be considered distasteful in Qatar.
Any pointers?
Thank you in advance!
Hello Happy Horizon,
sign up to this VPN and you can listen to your radio station - and more
Its costs $16 per month

Thanks for the feedback you two!
Redneck jokes probably won't be considered distasteful - they may not be understood.
You can surf anything you want. If it's blocked, then consider it "inappropriate"
Would be to try and log on to the station if it's on-line.
Porn sites are banned and some other questionable sites no doubt are but radio should be OK.
Qatar is less censored than Turkey (where we live) which has over 4,000 blocked sites including Youtube and some other google sites.
