Converting to Islam/Muslim. What's beyond?
Let me first apologize for my ignorance in this matter. Before I use to hear some comments at work, and once I found this site I read several forums where people mention: ...Have to convert to Islam... or convert to Muslim... I have even met people whom already convert, but I feel ashame/embarraced to ask. So what is beyond the whole process? Is it like Baptism for christians?

To become a believer one only needs to believe that Allah deserves all worship and not to worship any other God.
To become a muslim (a better believer) you need to believe that the Prophet Mohammad SAW is the messenger of Allah and to follow the instructions passed on by him SAW.

sincere acceptance and of course knowledge of the religion because its not a matter of quantity its of quality my friend. hope you will be guided.

and accepts Islam as your Religion, you only need a sincere Acceptance of the faith and proclaim " Ash hadu an lailaha Illallah, Wa Ash hadu anna muhammad arrasulullah"
