Hypocrites... you are not a 'real muslim'

Amoud
By Amoud

This is getting to be a real pain in the you know what. Apparently if you do not agree with someones religious views here on QL you are a 'hypocrite' or you are 'only calling yourself a muslim'

My post here is to tell you all... get over yourselves. You know proclaiming that people are such things can lead you to more trouble than good, and last time I checked I havent seen any postings by scholars or Imams here.

Heres a hint to all you who feel the need to pass fundamentalists judgement on muslims and non-muslims alike (even though you will argue that it is your Islamic duty to correct people when they are "wrong")

1. No one thinks you are clever
2. Is it not better to show kindess in word (read realsomeones post on the Muslim character)rather than spitting venom at each other, hence giving non-muslims a negative view of Islam?
3. Every single comment on QL does not have a religious connotation, nor does every heated discussion mean someone is attacking your faith. Take it easy.
4. Be careful with the insults and accusations you are throwing around. A word is like a stone, once thrown cannot be taken back and we are all accountable for our words.
5. If your intention in such posts is to show the non-muslims the way, you are doing the opposite and only driving a bigger wedge between Islam and non-muslims.

Anyone care to add anything?

[mod note: Thread locked. It's served it's original purpose and is heading down on all to familiar route]

ABU:

"You could refuse to believe in the "peace" treaty imposed on you, and prefer to keep your right in going back to your land & claiming your stolen home, and they would call you a "terrorist" "

So, you are agreeding with the State of Israel that palestinians are invaders.

"You could refuse to believe in a funny & fabricated "holocaust" and they would consider you "inhuman", "hateful" & "anti-semite"

All nations practice these pre-judgments!

At least the muslims are the minimal in this!"

I think you are confused, but as i stated before the worst blind is the one that refuses to see.

I'll be more specific, and i would ask folks not to take this as an attack to Islam, just trying to show the difference between an historical fact and religious facts.

Abu, i can present you millions of living witnesses that were in Concentration camps during WW2, all i ask you is to introduce me a living witness that can testify that he/she was present when Moses helped the israelians to escape from the egyptians, or that followed either Jesus or Mohamed when they were alive. Books don't count as living beings.

"If you can't write/pronounce people's nationalities, you'll NEVER understand their problems.

Part of their tragedies, is that their are people who can not even spell their nationalities."

WHAT???? How come? In the west we don't have problems because someone doesn't spell their country name right doesn't mean the country or population will suffer with it.

Abu... please show me my attack against my own religion would you please?

I was pointing out how quickly everyone can call someone else a hypocrit etc... you keep proving me right :)

Oryx, your post about people being paranoid was perfectly timed.

not because you disagree with me, but because you make a thread against Islam, while you give a blind eye to the pre-judgements of all other nations/religions.

If you were not a hypocrite, you would have had the honesty to talk about the pre-judgements of ALL people on earth instead of attacking muslims.

This is why you are acting exactly like what you have been preaching against!

So please don't be a hypocrite and clean your own backyard before you start throwing accusations on others!

"That i call Iraquians instead of Iraquis"

I never said "Iraquis"! I said "Iraqis"

If you can't write/pronounce people's nationalities, you'll NEVER understand their problems.

Exactly my point! Specially people who make hatefull threads & posts like amoud, platter, and you!

The 3 of you are a part of a big group that is dedicated to attacking & bashing Islam, here on QL

In my eye the only solution is for ppl to be sensetive about other ppls faith and feelings..I mean its not easy to sit back and "relax" if your religion is being attacked and made fun of??? lately there has been alot of Islam bashing, making fun of islamic faith and laws, you see atleast one post everyday with continuos comments thats attacking islam... Don't get me wrong I am just using the following as an examply, but last week someoen posted about "nepali child godess", which in many opinion is agains human/child right abuse, but it got no more than maybe 13 comments, in wich the religion was priased for being peacful..its like helllooo?? and if a muslim girl is married to a guy that is arranged by her parents, it becomes a rights issue???????I think we all need to leave the religions out of QL, and if there is someoen who really needs an answer can search the net or go to teh education center.

AMOUD: Nice post :) Abu is one of that examples, i made a post regarding religious tolerance by Iraquian government and what bothers him? That i call Iraquians instead of Iraquis.

I have made several posts trying to leurn new views on certain subject but someone always manages to see an attack to their faith.

I myself called someone a hypocrite here i dont really like to do so but its sometimes pressing to make things clear, you will see someone who comments he/she is a good muslim, prays 5 times a day, etc but at the same time talks somethings that all muslims will find contraction to come from a Muslim person. it maybe lack of knowledge or what ever the reason.

There are things which all Muslims believe and obey to Allah when you see someone contracting such things its a duty to make plain clear that this person's view is not with all Muslims or Islamic teaching (and what do you call that?)

May Allah perfect us the right path. Allah knows best.

You're right Amoud, nobody in this forum is going to change anyone else's views. At least not when it come to the "hot" topics.

I just steer clear of those threads. All they do is get my blood pressure up. But hey, it's sport for some people, I guess.

My fault. By facts, I meant the religious writings.

As with ALL religions, there are the written down rules and then there are interpretations. Many believe that we should go strictly by the religious writings.. In Islam's case, the Quran and the hadiths. They also believe that discussions / viewpoints should be supported by reference to these writings.

Others believe that we should ourselves be able to interpret and choose the best path for ourselves.

I believe that this is where the gist or the argument and the problem lies.

Religious arguments are fine, done respectfully and in good conduct, but I firmly believe not everything needs to turn into a religious debate, and certainly not a moral courtroom.

You make some very valid points. This is why I say, that we should avoid religious arguments, because most of us don't have all the facts. Leave the interpretations to scholars or religious experts.

I totally agree about the use of language and showing some humility when arguing/discussing.
