My topic deleated: Why?!

Mesopotamia
By Mesopotamia

I posted a topic about the expansion of the universe in the Quran. The topic has not the slightest offence to any other religion or person, unless showing miracles of one's religion is offending to others.

And I don't think I violated the forum's rules either, for I posted my topic in is Politics, Culture and Religion. So can the resepectable Mod kindly tell me the reason why he/she omitted my subject?

Regards

One can post this type of subject by simply not proselytizing it as fact eg:

"The Qu'ran says, and many muslims believe, this:

POST YOUR CUT'n'PASTE

Do you believe this? Are there facts for or against this view?"

Now a discussion is set up and not a closed argument.

"Deaths in the Bible. God - 2,270,365

not including the victims of Noah's flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, or the

many plagues, famines, fiery serpents, etc because no specific numbers

were given. Satan - 10."

"But it is a Quranic way to show the people the benefit of following the guidance, and similarly show the consequence of rejecting it."

and there are websites set up specifically for this, but QL is not one of these (as Qatari clearly stated in the post I linked to above).

No friend, I am not forcing anyone, for the Quran says that "there should be no coercion in the matter of religion..." But it is a Quranic way to show the people the benefit of following the guidance, and similarly show the consequence of rejecting it. It is the principle of “Reward and Punishment."

Being the book of guidance, the Quran includes various techniques of addressing people. I don't have to be apologetic and show one side, hiding the other. When I tell people about the reward, I should not hide the punishment; rather, it is a balance. And being the last post I will make, on the request of the Mod., I had to mention this verse in order to not to focus on one side, neglecting the other.

Thanks for your remark.

"And who does more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, forgetting the (deeds) which his hands have sent forth? Verily We have set veils over their hearts lest they should understand this, and over their ears, deafness, if thou callest them to guidance, even then will they never accept guidance." [Holy Quran 18:57]

It's never the original threads the pull me in to comment, but some of the comments that follow them. Try as I might, sometimes I just can't resist!

The threads are always there right in front of me, clogging up the forum so the stuff about Qatar gets swamped. I feel the same about all the the jokes, the soppy crap about love, the cut'n'pastes from newspapers around the World (which is copyright infringement but that doesn't seem to deter people), etc, etc.

I say put it all in it's own group and leave the main forums for Qatar related stuff.

Perhaps Qatari will see this thread and be reminded of what was posted a couple of years ago.

For raising and discussing issues about Culture, Politics and Religion, not just copying and pasting of something from islamonline or where ever.

This is what Qatari, the site owner, said about it a couple of years ago;

1. This site is not a religious site. If you are intent on evangilising your religion, you are welcome to go and use them.

2. Do not cut and paste articles from other sites

3. This site is about Qatar and life about anywhere does involve religion. Reasonable discussion on religion (which leads to understanding) is fine. I suspect this involves questions like "Where can I find a church in Doha?", "What does the call for prayer mean and why do I hear it all the time?", "Why is the weekend on Friday here?", "How do I behave so that I don't offend local religious values?", etc.

4. We do discuss all sorts of things here and discussing some religion sometimes is fine and as long as you are not trying to offend, insult or directly evengelise.

5. If you still really really really only want to post about religion please ask for a blog on the site so you don't clog up the forums. Send me a priavate message if you would like a blog.

I just wish it was enforced.

Don't get me wrong, I've participated in many of these cut'n'paste threads. I'd just prefer to see them in their own group so that eager participants could subscribe to the group and the rest could just ignore it.

Because it's offensive, irrelevant, cut and pasted nonsense? I dont think "Control + C" of some internet page is 'exposing ideas' or analysis or discussion in any sense.

As I said once before, this stuff is offensive to non-Muslims. Stop preaching - it's not wanted in a main group. Put it in a specialist 'Muslim' group, as suggested to you by the moderator.

I've asked admin once again to create a 'Religious Teachings' group where all this cut'n'paste religious stuff can go. Putting them on the main forum just causes trouble.

Mesopotamia - perhaps you'd like to manage the group. Drop admin a mail.

I believe I saw a mod note to you asking you to put it into the "Muslim" group or some such, and that you would be banned if you failed to comply. Consider yourself lucky it was only deleted and that you are still here!
