What Was the Mysterious Activity Going on in the Marriot Hotel Islamabad by United States Marines

Sunday, 21 September 2008 12:18 www.daily.pk

Marriott Hotel has now become a ghost house which was yesterday the most beautiful and prestigious hotels in the Islamabad. While the condemnation of the blasts and the deaths and the loss of property is going on from all the quarters, some intriguing news is also pouring in.

After the blast, mysteriously fire was started at the fourth and fifth floors. It was said that this fire was the result of gas pipeline burst running through the hotel. The million dollar question is that was the gas pipeline not running through the other floors? Why the fire broke out from the fourth and fifth flours? That is the question which perhaps holds the key to the mystery as why the hotel was targeted yesterday, in which more than 60 people died including many foreigners.

Though it would never get confirmed but the fire on the fifth and fourth floor of the hotel broke out because those flours were housing the mysterious steel boxes under the heavy guard of United States marines and no one including the Pakistani security forces and the security men of the hotel were allowed to go near with the them. These boxes were shifted inside the hotel when the Admiral Mike Mullen met Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and others in Islamabad.

It is said that one member of parliament Mumtaz Alam who belongs to the PPP, the ruling party was there eye witnessed the whole scene when the white truck of US embassy came to the gate of Marriot Hotel and US marines themselves unloaded the steel boxes from the trucks and shifted them to the fourth and fifth floors without passing through them the scanners at the entrance of the hotels. When the truck was there, all the entrance and the exit passage way to the hotels were closed.

And now this blast has occurred at the Marriott, while that mysterious activity was going on.

there is no question about inncocent people killing... ...try to get views of local community and you will know the fact...actually only these people are being killed there...

Scarlett you have to agree that many innocent people get killed because of ariel bombing. You have to accept the fact.

No one can support the killing of innocent people on 9/11 as well as the killing of innocent people due to arial bombings like in lebonan war 2006.

PM certainly Pakistan had a great influence in Afghanistan becasue Pakistan was the closest to Afghanistan and helped a lot more than any other country, it is not shy to accept it. It is not somthing called controlling it is something like having a great regard in the people of Afghanistan.

Pakistan had imparted lot of stability to Afhanistan and if there were some foreign elements they were having within them planning against others then it was the biggest blunder to attack them all rather than eliminating them only, what is the result now?.

Ceratianly Pakistan gave the largest scarfice for Afghanistan and in return lived in the heart of Afghan people and will be inshallah in near future again.

I'm sorry, i almost laughed when I read what you typed about the innocent women and children being bombed in a shelter...I have SEEN the tapes from the planes that did the bombing and want to know what was on there??? The initial blast, then numerous subsequent blasts from the munitions being held in the "shelter". Those people had been warned not to have people in those shelters and if someone is so uncaring to place women and children in harms way just to act as a decoy to avoid the munitions(or a military leader) from being harmed, how can you sympathsize with them as a country?

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

PM actually YES Taliban will come again if free and fair elections are carried out, the Karzai is an artifucally induced leadership somewhat like our president Zardari whose medical report suggest that he does not remeber any thing after some time as he is suffering from some mental disease.

Many here will be surprised to know that but this is a fact that Taliban belong to afghanistan and foreigners planning distruction dont belong to Afghanistan. Taliban are pathans and naturally they saw and they will see Pakistan as their friend. All the items edible and other neccesity of life also comes from Pakistan as well, they have to be their freinds. Pakistan had an influence on them and must had got what they wanted even if Taliban had not agreed from within after 9/11 but removing them meant that it was all over and at least USA cannot control Afghanistan through people like Dostam or other very small war lords who had proclaimed themselves dead.

Musharaff used to say that Talibana are different than foreign element, he was right.

PM said 'If that is the case, I do not understand why Pakistan has not dealt with them all along.'

Do you think it is so easy to deal with this problem? What makes you think the US will be able to deal with 'them'? The US with all its firepower, technology and manpower could not defeat the vietnamese and only had partial success in korea. The British could not 'deal' with the IRA using force.

Popular support in Afghanistan for the resistance has grown because of violations by Nato forces; killing civilians with impunity, destruction of villages, support of the warlords who oppress the people, and much of what went on in Iraq (we have all seen the pictures/videos) goes on in Afghanistan. This problem was created by using excessive force and it certainly won't be solved with using more force.

Until recently Pakistan was dealing with this issue in a manner which was in its national interest which is its right(i.e. signing agreements and not allowing the conflict to spill in to pakistan). With attacks on Nato forces increasng (and this is deep inside Afghanistan and not just on the pak/afghan border), as is the usual custom the US started to blame pakistan for 'not doing enough'. Unfortunately under pressure the Pak govt sacrificed what was in its national interest.

Flowers I agree we need to hear the other interpretations of events and so thanks for posting the stuff. Mainstream media specially those with the widest coverage, Fox, CNN, BBC, etc jumps to the same 'official' conclusion before all the facts are available as the masses are already 'conditioned' to accept the simple interpretation of events.

Thanks also for the reminder about referring to Quran & sunnah for guidance on how to analyse the current situation.

I think ppl who are bashing Pakistan really need to improve their understanding of history and this region. Guys you are not going to understand what is going on now without knowing what has gone before. Things are never black and white but just shades of gray.

Allah says,"Oh you who believe! If a Fasiq (liar- evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done."

Surah 49, Ayah 6

I didn't post mainstream because everyone is bombarded with it and it is so readily available. So I posted the other side. Many people know that mainstream media has been hijacked by corrupt people in high places. One must try to see what the other side has to say. Many Muslims have been arrested for "suspected terrorism" and then a few days, weeks, months or years later were let go without charge or conviction. Some Muslims automatically say the worst of things against these Muslims without fearing that Allah will hold them accountable for their utterances of hurtful speech without listening to their Muslim brother or sisters side. An example of this can be found in the story of Prophet Dawud (alayhi salam) in the Holy Quran (surah 38, verses 22-25). Two angels came into his chamber in the form of men. One of them who owned one sheep complained that his brother who owned 99 sheep wanted to take his only animal from him. Immediately without asking the man with 99 sheep his side of the story, Prophet Dawud inclined towards the one who owned only one. Allah admonished him for not listening to both sides of the story and makes us understand that whoever passes judgment without listening to both sides of a story is indeed an oppressor whom will be taken to account on the Day of Judgment unless we make a sincere taubah. Incidentally, Prophet Dawud (as) repented and Allah forgave Him.

Defending The Honour of Muslim

The honour and dignity of a Muslim is precious in the sight of the Almighty and therefore it is a grave sin NOT to defend and protect it, let alone disgracing him or treating him disrespectfully. The defence of a Muslim's honour, when it is at stake, is in fact a virtuous and rewardable deed as explained in the hadeeth related by Jabir (R.A.), that the Prophet (S.A.W.) said "The Muslim who forsakes a fellow Muslim brother (and does not come to his assistance) at a time when his honour is at stake, will be denied the help of Allah when he is greatly in need of it, whereas the Muslim who stands by a fellow Muslim at a time when his honour is at stake, - Allah will grant him His assistance when he will need it most." (Sahih Muslim)

In another hadeeth, reported by Abdullah Ibn Umar (R.A.) the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said "Every Muslim is the brother of a Muslim, he should neither harm him, nor should he leave him alone when others treat him unjustly (he should help him). Whoever will fulfill the need of a fellow brother, Allah will fulfill his need, and whoever removes the distress of a fellow Muslim, Allah will remove his distress on the Day of Judgement, and whoever will hide(keep secret) the faults (and shame) of a fellow Muslim, Allah will keep his sins secret.'etc. on the Day of Account." (Sahih Muslim)

Both these reports show the value and respect that should be attached to the honour and good name of a Muslim.

How else will Quran and Sunnah apply to these news sources? Since it's incumbent upon the Muslims to practice "fiqh al waakiah", (keeping up with current affairs) we have to learn about what's going on from the news agencies. When one studies seerah and learns about the evil plots of plans of the kuffar ( Quraysh, other pagan Arab tribes, and the Jews all plotted against the Muslims at the battle of the trench.) Some of the pagan Arab tribes and the Jews had a treaty with the Prophet (saw). They were treacherous and conspired with the Quraysh to battle against the Muslims. What we see happening in the world today are some of the same plots that were used by the kuffar of old.

I'm not here to debate. I'm just posting the "other side". People should not try to sway others from reading independence news sources. There are people here who appreciate other than mainstream sources.

By flowersarebeautiful• 25 Sep 2008 23:19

Yes, I read many news site...mainstream and other independent news. So he has stuff on illuminatis (freemasons)...is this supposed to be unbelievable? He mentions a lot about what's going on in America (your country)ie martial laws, FEMA camps,etc.. Just like all other news sources..the news agencies don't post only what their journalists wrote. So Alex Jones posts news that he and his helpers collect from all over the world.I don't agree with everything that's on his site or any other sites that some of the QL members like to bash. I use the Quran and the Sunnah as the furqan. And I try to learn the seerah in order to understand the events of what happened in the past and what's happening today.

The size of the explosion ...suggests massive amounts of explosives were used ....the likes of which can only be done (bought, organised, stored, transported, etc) by military.

Also note the foll. coincidences:

1. June 1, 2001, Nepal's King gets assassinated.

2. On 9th Sept 2001 (just 2 days before 9/11)Lion of Panjshir, Ahmad Shah Massoud a leading leader gets assassinated. (Taliban couldn't get him for years).

3. Benazir gets assassinated a few days before the polls.

The above 3 have pushed the respective countries into more chaos....all well planned operations.

Also ..

How are these guys transferring cash across continents in spite of all the curbs.....they are able to because they are "allowed" to do the transaction. They cannot carry such huge amount of cash in gunny bags on their head.

Terrorism was not a big problem to be solved 7 years ago. The thing is that which was the best method to solve it. Read my words that when ever USA will leave Taliban will rule the Afghanistan again, this is something for sure.

They were not against Pakistan or even USA and Pakistan was able enough to get the foreign elements out of there planning distruction else where through Taliban themselves. Now they are getting violent after being heavily engaged by friegn forces and have to be stopped by force by Pakistan in any way to be law abiding citizens and not to drag Pakistan into some conflict.

The game is getting complicated due to occupation of Afghanistan, the only solution is to give back the power to its people, they will certainly come back to Pakistan and then Pakistan can get rid of those elements planning acts of terrorism in most effective way. This should had been done 7 years ago.

Certaily the boxes that are of the explosive natue are not kept in the hotels like in the manner indicated here, they must not be of explosive nature. USA has an embassy there of adequate size and they have their residential compounds in the foothills of margalah hills i-e the end of himlayan range ,it in a beautiful location. They are not short of space there in Islamabad.

The fire started becasue of alumminum powder flew off after the blast, once get molten by heat it can make the metal soft and can melt it down and fire can start as soon as it sets in. The second theory can very well be the massive shock wave that is generated can rip apart the connections very easily.

To the end of the day of yesterday, an unknown group, " Combatants of the Islão" , he demanded, in phone call for the television Al-Arabiya, the attempted against one. What is Covert Action?

By J.V. Grady

09/21/05 "ICH" -- -- Intelligence services generally are organized into the following major functional areas:

· Intelligence Collection

· Analysis

· Counterintelligence

· Covert Action

Intelligence Collection is the collection of Intelligence information, secret or otherwise, through spying, interrogation, satellites, etc. If the information is collected through spying or interrogation, it is known as HUMINT (human intelligence). If it is collected through technical means such as electronic eavesdropping or satellites, it is known as TECHINT (technical intelligence). Open-source Intelligence (OSINT) is information gathered from non-secret, public sources.

Intelligence Analysis is the assessment of collected raw intelligence and the processing of it into usable intelligence product that can be used to guide policy and operations.

Counterintelligence has as its mission the prevention of a foreign intelligence service from obtaining intelligence information from one’s own country. In a preventative role, it ensures the employment of security practices to safeguard information. In a more active role, it conducts operations against enemy intelligence services; in other words, it spies on the spies. Such action is often referred to as spycatching.

Perhaps the most interesting and sinister field in Intelligence is Covert Action (also referred to as Clandestine Operations, Black Ops, and Black Operations). Some do not consider Covert Action as being part of the traditional Intelligence mission, and they therefore believe that it should be treated independently and even organized within a separate organization. Others feel that, because it often interrelates with Intelligence Operations and Counterintelligence Operations, it should continue to remain within the same ruling organization or apparatus.

There are many types of Covert Action operations, not all of them violent. For example, if a government wishes to influence the politics of another country’s government, the government may secretly fund an opposition party in that country in order to influence that country’s elections. Another method is to employ foreign newspaper reporters to write articles that give the version of events, the propaganda, that you want people to believe, even if it is the furthest thing from the truth. Or perhaps the owners or editors of a newspaper or media service can be bought or won over to allow articles or news stories created by the Intelligence organization for propaganda purposes to be planted in the newspaper or media service. A slant can then be given to influence public perceptions. For example, mercenaries can be referred to as “contractors”, thus making people believe that casualties among the mercenaries are innocent civilian construction workers who were unjustly victimized.

The main thing about Covert Action is that it must be deniable. There is a term called “plausible deniability”. When a government authorizes a covert action operation, the operation must be done in such a way that the government can claim that it knows nothing about it; in other words, the operation must not be attributable to the government that authorized it.

Covert Action operations are often Disinformation Operations, which are conducted in such a way as to discredit the opposition or the enemy. This is done, for example, by doing a violent action, such as a bombing, but making it look like the forces of another country or group did it. Such operations are sometimes called False-Flag Operations, meaning that the operation is conducted to make it look like it was done by people serving under another flag, preferably the enemy’s flag. If the operation succeeds as designed, people will blame the action on the wrong party (the enemy). Thus, public opinion will be won over to the side that actually did the killing. Such false-flag, covert action operations are often referred to as Dirty Tricks.

The British regularly employed Covert Action operations in Ireland, with the result that it is likely that the IRA often took the blame for violent actions with which they had no involvement, although they were hardly innocent players in the general mayhem. Many people suspect that the Northern Irish bank robbery that occurred some time back was actually a British Covert Action operation designed to make the IRA take the blame, so that people would believe that the IRA was not honouring the Good Friday Agreement. Incidentally, most of the British Northern Irish bank notes taken were worthless old notes, so they were no skin off anyone’s teeth.

The policy in Iraq is to keep the country destabilized and on the verge of civil war to show that it cannot govern itself and that it therefore requires the continued presence of American and British forces. The man accused of being behind much of the bombing going on there is Al-Zarqawi, a man known to be dead for some time now. Also, because he is (or, rather, was) a Sunni, bombings against the Shi’ia population, if blamed on him and the Sunni insurgents, can keep the pot of civil war simmering, thus giving further justification to keeping American and British forces there.

Most recently, two British Covert Operations specialists were captured in Basra, in Southern Iraq. They were disguised as Arabs and were carrying bomb-making materials. When Iraqi police tried to apprehend them, the two covert action operatives resisted arrest and killed two policemen. They were eventually caught and held in jail. After the British military learned that they had been captured, it sent tanks into Basra to forcibly free the two men. An enraged mob attacked the tanks with petrol bombs, and people around the world saw British soldiers jumping out of a flaming tank and being stoned. The reaction was one of sympathy for the British soldiers. Few stopped to wonder what was behind the anger and the assault. Most were sympathetic towards the “poor” British soldiers, who were perceived as being unjustly victimized.

So, who is behind many of the bombings against the Shi’ia and Sunni populations? It is quite possible, even probable, that many of them are being carried out by American, British, and even Israeli Covert Action operatives.

So, when you watch the news, think more deeply about what you’re seeing; and when you read your newspapers, try reading between the lines or wonder about the source or the writer behind the article. Has the article been planted? Is the writer in the pay of an intelligence service?

Is Mr. Floyd a member of the US government, or the CIA? Or is he just a journalist who puts down his thoughts?

Why are we always quick to blame the resistance and defending America? As a Muslim we are suppose to support the truth or at least try to find out the truth instead of blindly following the governments of one's country that we belong to and being victims of propaganda warfare (ie government controlled mainstream news media).

Here's an article written by a non-Muslim that speaks about "covert operations".

American Terror

By Chris Floyd

01/21/05 "Moscow Times" -- More than two years ago, we wrote here of a secret Pentagon plan to foment terrorism by sending covert agents to infiltrate terrorist groups and goad them into action -- in other words, committing acts of murder and destruction. The purpose was two-fold: first, to bring the terrorist groups into the open, where they could be counterattacked; and second, to justify U.S. military attacks on the countries where the terrorists were operating -- attacks which, in the Pentagon's words, would put those nations' "sovereignty at risk." It was a plan that countenanced -- indeed, encouraged -- the deliberate murder of innocent people and the imposition of U.S. military rule anywhere in the world that U.S. leaders desired.

This plan is now being activated.

In fact, it's being expanded, as The New Yorker's Seymour Hersh revealed last week. Not only will U.S.-directed agents infiltrate existing terrorist groups and provoke them into action, but the Pentagon itself will create its own terrorist groups and "death squads." After establishing their terrorist "credentials" through various atrocities and crimes, these American-run groups will then be able to ally with -- and ultimately undermine -- existing terrorist groups.

Top-level officials in the Pentagon, the U.S. intelligence services and the Bush administration confirmed to Hersh that the plan is going forward, under the direction of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld -- just as we noted here in November 2002. Through a series of secret executive orders, George W. Bush has given Rumsfeld the authority to turn the entire world into "a global free-fire zone," a top Pentagon adviser says. These secret operations will be carried out with virtually no oversight; in many cases, even the top military commanders in the affected regions will not be told about them. The American people, of course, will never know what's being done in their name.

The covert units -- including the Pentagon-funded terrorist groups and hit squads -- will be operating outside all constraints of law and morality. "We're going to be riding with the bad boys," one insider told Hersh. Another likened it to the palmy days of the Reagan-Bush years: "Do you remember the right-wing execution squads in El Salvador? We founded them and we financed them. The objective now is to recruit locals in any area we want. And we aren't going to tell Congress about it." Indeed, we reported here last summer that Bush has already budgeted $500 million to fund local paramilitaries and guerrilla groups in the most volatile areas of the world, a measure guaranteed to produce needless bloodshed, destruction and suffering for innocent people already ravaged by conflict.

The activation of the Pentagon terrorist operation is part of Bush's second-term expansion of the "war on terror." Despite some obfuscating rhetoric about "diplomacy," the Bush regime is pressing ahead with a hard-line strategy aimed at opening new military fronts in the "global free-fire zone." Any dissenting voices within the government are being ruthlessly purged. The Pentagon's secret forces are set for operations in at least 10 countries, and Bush insiders "repeatedly" told Hersh that "Iran is the next strategic target."

Iran has long been a focus of the small clique of "global dominationists" -- led by Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney and their acolytes -- who engineered the invasion of Iraq. This group is determined to "whack Iran," as one insider put it, and they're not at all discouraged by the debacle in Iraq; indeed, to them it's a rousing success. Their first objective -- openly stated years ago, before Bush took office -- was the overthrow of Saddam Hussein's regime and the planting of a U.S. "military footprint" in Iraq. This has now been done. The fact that it has plunged the Iraqi people into a hell of violence, chaos, terror and extremism is of no real concern to the clique. Their lofty rhetoric about "freedom" and "liberation" is meaningless sham, shuck and jive for the rubes. By the admission of the clique's own publications, they seek strategic control over the world's energy resources in order to preserve and expand American geopolitical and economic hegemony in the new century. Everything else -- including the security of the American people, put at increasing risk by the clique's reckless policies -- is of secondary importance.

U.S. forces are already conducting military reconnaissance inside Iran in preparation for strikes on alleged nuclear weapons facilities, Hersh reports. The Pentagon is feverishly updating war plans for a "maximum ground and air invasion of Iran," incorporating the new staging areas now available in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, while employing an Iranian terrorist group, MEK, to launch covert ops and terrorist acts against Tehran. MEK was once given sanctuary by Hussein, who used the group as a brutal enforcer against Kurd and Shiite insurgents. Now Bush, "riding with the bad boys," has embraced the MEK murderers as his own.

In their ignorance and arrogance, the Bushists will almost certainly strike at Iran -- despite the fact that even Iranian dissidents support the effort to make their nation a nuclear power and would join the mullahs in retaliation. The result will be a conflict far surpassing the horror and magnitude of the Iraq disaster.

In our original report on the Pentagon's terror scheme, we wrote: "Bush and his cohorts are plunging the world into an abyss, an endless night of murder and terror -- wholesale, retail, state-sponsored, privatized; of fear and degradation, servility, chaos, and the perversion of all that's best in us." Now the night has come. Now the United States stands openly -- even proudly -- for terrorism, torture and the Hitlerian principle of aggressive war. America has fallen into the pit -- and the hopes of the world go with it.

babu, you are perfectly right. According to the definition of terrorism by the US State Department (military action against non-combatant groups) the US military as well should be called "terrorists".

They have an "explanation" for that, too, babu. "Civilian casualties are unavoidable", is what they would tell you. It shows a certain kind of unprofessionalism among the military, don't you think?
