Nigerian embassy opens in Qatar

Officials cut the ribbon for the official opening of the Nigerian embassy in Doha yesterday.

The diplomatic mission was deemed necessary considering the increasing bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the growing Nigerian presence in Qatar, which numbers between 6,000 to 8,000.

Ambassador Shaibu Adamu Ahmed stated that Nigeria is looking to benefit from Qatar’s status as “the most prolific investor in the world.”

He also praised Qatar as being a key player in the political arena, and thus could potentially help solve the Mali crisis.

The embassy is located at Al Istiqlal Street, building 39, zone 63, street 941, according to Doha News.

It is open from Sunday to Thursday between 8am to 12pm for submitting documents, and from 2pm to 3pm for collecting documents.
