Saudit women have to buy "lingerie" to men
"Less than three weeks after King Abdullah has chosen the first woman to join the government in Riyadh, Saudi other news related to the saudits have reached the West. This time it is the site of the BBC World that reveals and they are related to the campaign of protest and demand, launched from the Women's University Dar al-Hikma, in Jeddah. Questioning, the women's underwear, or better it's the purchase.
Reem Asaad, assistant in the university and the woman who launched a campaign of protest at Facebook, argues that the way the female underwear is sold in Saudi Arabia is completely unacceptable for anyone in the modern world. " And the explanation is simple. In a country where the contact between the sexes is forbidden in public, buy underwear female involves entering a store where there are only male employees and they are the ones to whom we must ask that nightie more or less sexy, the silk pajamas, the robe, the half or even all the bikini and bra. Pay and leave without trying to see if it is good or how it fits.
"It's sensitive parts of the body of women, sometimes we need to discuss the size, color, or how attractive it is not the piece of choice, and obviously do not want to have this discussion with a stranger, much less a man, "underlines Asaad, which guarantees:" This is something that i would not even discuss with my friends. "
Jad Rana, 20, and student at that university in Jeddah, ensures that she'll never buy underwear in the kingdom again and explains: "The girls do not feel very at ease when it's the men who sells them the lingerie size that they should use, and say "I think this is small for you, I think that it is great."
Given the "embarrassment", the Saudi females insist that the lingerie stores must be runned by women and who meet the public. The campaign has reached the press, and has the support of several newspapers.
In 2006, the government in Riyadh has passed a law according to which women are allowed to work in shops where they sell products for the female audience, such as clothes, accessories or lingerie. Sometimes, however, the law was never properly put into practice because it is assumed, that this would increase unemployment among men. "

I checked BBC World page but didn't found the original article, feal free to confirm it. This wasn't written by me.
You can't teach experience...
as per my knowledge... most of these kind of shops are recruiting salewomens to solve the dispute mention above... but don't know country like Saudia where world strict laws implemented... no such law made yet...!
Men should not be allowed to sell the undergarmets for women, its not acceptable by any standards, esp. Islamic standards.Hope things go on fine. But i dont think its good to say that just because these things exist there, everything is wrong there and poeople should rebel. That shows a hidden agenda!
As much as I empathise with the sentiment of this article I think patience is called for. Saudi Arabia needs more people like Reem to make things happen. Keep up the good fight.
Why not host lingerie parties?
lol, you would be like that bloke from the Grace Brothers lol not Mr. Humphreys but the other one who was always joshing with Miss Brahms lol
Brit/Justmoi: I posted this article preciselly because i never knew that they had men only working at those shops.

I worked and lived in Saudi and found it really embarrasing to go into a shop to buy something for Mrs Expat..
LOL
in a country so strict about how women behave and who they are seen with etc that they have to buy personal items from men.
There may be changing rooms but what if she needs fitting for a bra or measured.
Seems silly to me.
