Statues as symbolism
Just wondering why 'statues' are conspicuously absent hereabouts? Is it sacrilegious and unislamic to have a statue of someone who represents a great feat or ideal? There must be some great men of history in the arab world who can inspire and whose life can be emulated by the present generation of young men.
As an artform, will Rodin's 'The Thinker' or things of the same genre be out of place here?
To be remenber or to be an "asset" in todays arab society, first you got to learn how to blow up yourself, hate the jews and the west or be one total Islamic extremist fellow.
Maybe, they will remenber you as the most wanted person in any criminal list of any nation or cable news.
I did it again: sorry, I misspell the word" ASSET", just remove the E AND T.
