What is fate?

By Straight Arrow

Fate is something which will happen to you sooner or later, and it can be good or bad.
There are two types of fate, the first type is a fate which you can not change and the second type is a one which you can interfere or change it.
For example you are having a car and you parked it safely in a dedicated place where car parks and switched of the engine, and suddenly a car came and hit it, here you did not have any control.
On the other hand if you are driving in the wrong direction and a car came and hit you, here you are responsible because you did not drive in the correct lane.
Believing in fate is the best shock absrober and I just gave one example.

destined or inevitable to happen....

even we try to do evrything in our power to be good and do good things and in the end we end up with the same...that was FATE....DESTINY...

wether we believe it or not.... all of us who live in here in what we call earth has its own fate and destiny...

BUT AS LONG AS YOU BELIEVE IN GOD....then whatever fate or destiny we end up to is fine...

Fate implies no choice, and ends fatally, with a death. Fate is an outcome determined by an outside agency acting upon a person or entity; but with destiny the entity is participating in achieving an outcome that is directly related to itself. Participation happens willfully.

We have to take the reasons and causes that is to say if you are sick do not say I will wait and see if survive or no.

Stop this and go to the doctor immediately take the following example

good parents will always educate their children

good education and interst to learn will lead to a very good science degree in the future and good degree will help you sure to have a good job in most cases and good work will lead hopefully to a good life.

Take the causes and things which will improve your life.

Believing in fate feels too much like giving up in my eyes. I prefer to think I control my own destiny.

Wow! You have made a good summary of Encarta's definitions of fate.

outcome: a consequence or final result

disastrous consequence: a disastrous or ruinous outcome

destiny: something with decisive or far-reaching consequences that inevitably happens

force predetermining events: the force or principle believed to predetermine events

I agree with your first Example... but next one is just stupidity/carelessness..how can you call it fate.

If I die tomorrow its my fate...if I survive a heart attack its my fate...

But you cannot leave everything for fate and just relax... do your duties in life with full dedication and commitment...leave the rest for GOD..

If you don’t study for the Exam and you fail..It’s not Fate..

If you studied well... but you met with an accident you couldn’t write the exam..Its your FATE!!
