why, does catholic represents all religion. Ms. Cat had mentioned, what about other Christian Churches, do they allow the congregational worship services here? No, once they caught you, they will throw you to jail, and that's a fact.

In Christian countries, they will not prohibit you from gathering together, maybe they will not allowed to wear this and that but still you can practice the basic form of worshipping in groups.

In Germany and France, the mere fact that they can voice out freely is already a manifestation that they are recognized unless they throw any Muslim into jail once caught inside their mosque, which I doubt very much. BTW, what is your religion Kanu?

The case that you are reffering to at present only effects the school system it does not effect religion outside of the school enviroment and quiet frankly I can see why they have done this. In Australia due to pressure fromreligous minorities most pre-schools and infants schools have done away with christmas pagents that involved the story of christs birth, so as not to affend. All France have done is said "you want us to do away with these sorts of practices, then lets make all schools a level playing feild? We will do away with the practice of all relions at school so no one can complain." I think thats fair. As for being allowed to practice all reliogons freely here and there being temples and churches there is only one Church here and it is catholic what about a Baptist, anglican, Prodesdant church as last time I checked while they are all different from Catholosism.

yup Islam is not the only one affected but this is against religious freedom...and that is what the europeans are boasting.

If you read my post correctly you will relise I did not say it does not come into play, I stated that it was not simply just directed towards islam but encompassed all religious clothing and artifacts. to simply say it was against islam is false thats all, and if you are going to use a case such as the one in France don't make it out as if islam is the only religion affected.

The banning of wearing religious clothing in France is not just limited to muslims they also banned the wearing of crosses, the jewish kippah(skull cap) and all clothing and jewllery that had any religious conitation, so please when refering to a situation like the one in france don't make it one sided as it is not.

We are talking about religious freedom and Islam so the france case comes into play. and many other european countries where Muslims face alot of difficulties.

We cannot say muslims get full freedom for their religious acts in europe. while you can still have alot of prohibited things in Islamic countries.

Here and in most arab states, special provision is made to allow for followers of other faiths to practice what is allowed in their religion and not allowed in Islam. Like drinking alchohol for example, or wearing tight cloths for women...etc. But also having places of worship. So what is Dmightysolomon talking about???

By hashimozotoyama• 25 Jun 2008 16:18
hashimozotoyama

What dmightysolomon said is a myth. Muslims in Germany face serious issues with the authorities regarding keeping their mosques open, finding a job, wearing headress...etc. Freedom of religion in the west is a myth. Concrete example: The King Fahad Academy in Bonn which houses a school and mosque, was closed down by the german authorities after a guest speaker expressed sympathy with the plight of muslims in Palestine and Afghanistan at a Friday sermon. That's your freedom...LOL

someone said that islam can be practiced in Christian dominated countries very freely and their religion can not be practiced in middle east countries.....huh..

In france, is it possible to wear head cover for school students???

Look at here in Doha, and Dubai,Oman etc. There are churches and Temples and they can practice their religion without disturbing the official religious things... But in west, muslims has to fight to protect their belief.....

By Kanu08• 25 Jun 2008 15:27

its all a matter of personal attitude.....

it also happens to muslims in europe....

By anonymous• 25 Jun 2008 15:17

but I understand that the guy promotes co-existence between different religion.....

So why is there no (real) freedom to practice any religion in Islam-dominated countries specifically the middle east countries.

While in Christian-dominated countries, Islam can practically practice their religion (very) freely. It should be two-way to have a more harmonious relationship among mankind.
