Dear All,

Please guide me I have been offered 15k Plus accommodation by HMC. I have following query:
1. Is the salary appropriate for the family of 2 adults and 1 infant, how much I can save?
2. Hows the work culture?
3. Qatar expat living condition for indian.

I am joining as Sr Manager - strategies.

Warm regards

Sr, Manager Strategy : Not sure why you want to go there. In India you can easily get same salary more of less. Work culture in Qatar is pathetic. You exit to country is restricted. You will have Indian but trust me no good talent go there only garbage of India goes there. You will be also the same if you stay there for a year. Changing job is a big problem. I suggest don't waist your education and talent for just few bucks. Gain some more experience and if you want to go abroad choice some good country not this one.

1. 15K + Accommodation is a pretty good salary in the present scenario but again it depends on how much experience you have prior to joining here in Qatar. If your experience is more than 8 or 10 years then i feel the salary is less. How about the other benefits like family status, medical, leave benefits ?

2. HMC work culture is great and you get regular 5 days working and good number of holidays.

3. Qatar is filled with Indian from various parts of India, So you wont feel strange.

Karan: 15k is a good salary especially since you are being provided with accommodation which is costly in Qatar. With the small family you have now, I guess you will be able to save around QR 12000 per month. However, this all depends on your lifestyle. You will find a good working atmosphere here. Indians currently form the largest workforce in Qatar. There are around 600,000 of Indians here and as such you will feel "quite at home."
