Hi,
I'll move to qatar withen 3 or 4 weeks.I have the folowing offer : 23 000 QA / 13 mount for "account manager" job (including everything).
I have 27 years with 5 years experience in IT.

This is the first offer and I am sure they are willing to increase but not sure how much. Is this a standard salary for an account manager with 5 year experience or is it too low?
From what I can tell the housing/living expenses are quite high in Doha.
should i take it?

1. Go to any language school for english.

2. The least possible

3. If you are only spending 50,000 QR then get the best 4x4 you can find. This is for your own protection, the driving is very dangerous here.

4. Probably more than 7000 QR housing is ridiculous here

Umm yea .. If you want to spend only out of your loan for a car then you can find a good second hand car.

Quoted from your original post.. You have 27 yrs exp in accounts and 5 in IT ?? Or you are 27 with 5 Yrs exp in IT ??

If they are providing you with accommodation then I'd say it is a pretty good deal. Otherwise also it is a nice package.

Added to that there is no tax on your income earned here.

You can get a good two bedroom appartment at 8000 to 10000 riyals. Cost of living is raising but as you have no children the salary you will get will be good. not difficult to get your wife a job at her field

I think u can get a 2 bed flat for about 7-9000 QAR, petrol is dirt cheap, alcohol is slightly higher than in uk, u tend to find that imported foods are more than locally made stuff, but i dont find it a big worry.
