I have a Salary offer of QAR 1.5k as a waiter, the location was at The Pearl under the management of UDC. aside for the basic salary the company will provide a housing, transportation and free meals during work hours. And we also have tips. Mt question is " Do you think my basic salary would be enough for me? or even i do have a tips? " Second question is " Do you think restaurants/hotel inside The Pearl is doing a very good bussiness (for tips)? ".Third question is " Anyone have an idea if the UDC is giving a good accomodation?" This is my first time to go abroad thats why I'm wondering if it is enough for me, I already have a family (married). Thanks for yous help guys! God Bless!

yo kabayan!!!! 1,500 is not a good starter, well... you have to consider the cost of living here in qatar, any conversion will make you feel sick, 1,500 is a good takehome but how about your self? 1 meal of KFC will cost you twice in the phil. so better to think it 10 times befor you go.....and remember....once you get in, its not easy to get out. peace bro!

A good start. It doesn't matter, if you really don't have any alternative. It will be a little bit difficult but you will survive. A bigger amount or smaller amount will be just the same. It depends on how you will budget

and spend your money. God bless and good luck......

kung meron ka pang mahanap na mas OK at magandang offer jan sa atin o sa ibang bansa pa bro... pick your beat choice.my best suggestion pick that free country jobs. waiter dito..walang nabalitang sineswerte..karamihan nasa waiting level. it's your choice. nasabi na nila. dito na kami mismo... recession is not the issue here. loosing jobs here sometimes makes a man happy coz it makes him a freeman!:)

Kabayan....kung sa akin lang at wala ka talagang work sa Pinas....GO AHEAD!....though talagang maliit ang 1.5T na salary but what else you can do? I think that is the maximum salary they could offer for a waiter job here...Mahirap din as a waiter (i known a lot of Filipinoes working here receiving a salary of QR 800.00 salaries some less some more than as high as 2,000) you need at least to wait for 2 years bago ka makauwi....you have to sacrifice a lot. Second, kung maganda naman ang work mo dyan (at least 10,000) dyan ka na lang sa atin. Mag aral ka ng engineering/accounting/nursing/arch....these professions guarantees higher salaries here...kung hindi ka tapos ng pag aaral at kung pamilyado ka then....you have to sacrifice for your family....go for it!

QR 1,500 is a good enough salary for a waiter in Qatar as I am from the hospitality industry, other 5 star hotels here are giving salaries lower than this sometimes way below, and considering that you will have everything for free and without tax that my friend is a very good offer for your position.

Your company UDC is very reputable (Al Fardan Group), the opportunity for promotion is quite good since the establishment is in its pre-opening phase. (if you got what I mean as a hotelier). Do not try to bargain as you might lose the job by doing so, I am sure for a company like that you are lucky enough to get accepted as there are I am sure thousands of waiting applications in line, and like everyone of us who went abroad looking for jobs it always takes a great risk because you are not sure how it will be, who your workmates are and the kind of people you will meet. My advise for you is to be strong and strive to do your best, work straight, no hanky panky on the job and you will go places like all of us Pinoys who left the country in search of a good life for our families back home.

kabayan, 1.5k (19,500 pesos) is good enough for a start.. i guess you cannot earn that amount in PI as a waiter.. since free lahat from accommodation to food then why not give it a try... Blessing na yan bro..

Bro,

A piece of advise , not all expats here give "TIP" if that is what your asking and it is a variable commodity from time to time , pearl qatar is a new area and not all can afford it's classy ambiance. The offer is very low for a married man like you, bargain for more as much as you can.

Cheers,

1.5K is too low for a starter, but some had survived lower than that.living here is expensive compared to PI.

@ chadqa & sagaynon

Thank you guys I really appreciate your help. but I am thinking what if the tips there in the location is doing good? any feedback for the pearl qatar site or for the restaurants there? do you think they are doing a good business there? Thanks so much for the help!

If you have kids and family that is not enough at all, it is really expensive in Qatar.

elioswd, i think you misinterpreted him. how come a sincere question became rudeness? are you drunk or really doesn't know how to understand?

If you doesn't know the answer just leave it ok!

Btw, 1.5K is not acceptable at all, knowing the inflation rate here in doha is shocking & since you mentioned, that you are married already much better to look for another offer.

Accomodation of the company you've mentioned is also not acceptable. Kabayan, botherly advise do not grab the offer, you can find better offer than that. 2.5K basic for newcomers is not bad.

Thanks,
