Is 45000 QR/ month enough?
HI
I have a job offer in Doha for 45000QR per month. It is all, i mean i have to pay flat, car, medical insurance, etc.
It is enough for a couple living in a high standard lifestyle? I am not sure how much is going to be our flat but for I have seen witha all commodities and in a good area i believe it will be around 12000 isn't it?
Thanks
did you ask some question or just show off your wages ?
please man.....!!
next i think there will be another question, is it enough having 100,000 QR salary per month in qatar ??
Hi Tozu, To be honest (and I realise there are people trying to survive on only 600 Qrs a month), it is not easy to save money here on this salary level. Rents here are astronomically high (we were not shown anything for less than 18,000 Qrs per month) and ended up paying a lot more, with a penalty of 1,500 Qrs per month for taking a one-year lease only, in a fully-furnished apartment (with poor quality fittings but with wonderful sea views). It seems the rents are much lower if you're a non-Westerner (but we were told these areas were out-of-bounds because we didn't share the same nationality). Private school fees (if you plan to have children) aren't always subsidised by the employer. Dining out three or four times a week at a restaurant, flying off for weekends away, cocktail bars, entertaining at home, golf club membership, and all the usual expenses that constitute a high standard of living are remarkably expensive here. For example, a cocktail at most hotels costs 45 - 60 Qrs which is probably double what you'd pay in Belgium. It's all relative though. If you stay home every night watching TV and only using the car for necessary journeys, you might be able to save some pennies but it depends on your own personal lifestyle and what constitutes for you a "high standard of living".
you are so lucky to get this salary as this salary is here may be for the senior most vice presidents of any foreign origin of any high class firm.
Cograts any ways that you have gained the same status at being 28 years of age or something
If something is BIG than how big is BIG ?
It will be misleading to give comments on how Good would be ur life by just knowing the salary. It all depends what are your standards. A thing may be a luxury for one and a Necessity for another at same time.
Try to evaluate the prices of things & services you will be requiring in your daily life by checking there prices on diffrent sources like discussion Forums, Newspapers & websites etc. And sum them up to see what you will spend & what would be the balance to save!!!!
Wish U Good Luck
financial contentment is relative.... i am earning less than that amount but i have a high standard of living as far as i am concerned. so it is up to you on how you rate your own standard of living. Maybe owning a Lamborghini will be sufficient for you to regard it as a high standard or a mere Toyota Camry will be fine. Generally, living conditions in Doha will be more than satisfied by your QR45,000 salary.
Good Luck!
i feel heartfelt sorry for the people who is starving to death!!!
you should get several millions a month to live a normal life in this part of the world. 45000 is nothing. you can apply for the post of late, julius caeser and that will have a better payouts.
all the best.
Just quoting your salary is not enough to answer this question. It all depends on where you currently live and how much you currently spend, and how much you want to save.
Also, I don't think 12,000 will not get you a high standard flat.
QR 45.000 for high standard life here in Qatar? Forget about.
45,000 !? OMG - no where near enough! Dont you shop at Louis Vuitton? Do u drink ? Do u fly First or Business? Sounds like a poor deal to me! Hic!
I understand that a lot of the Expats living in Qatar are highly paid and successful in their field, but I find it ridiculous that so many seem to think 45,000 p/m is a poor salary.
I am a 21 year-old British graduate and I am about to move to Qatar to teach in an international school. I will be paid far, far less that 45,000 QAR but I am prepared to accept this purely for the experience and adventure of living in Qatar.
Normally good employers in the Gulf pay medical insurance, children's school fees and annual vacation tickets to your home base for you and family. School fees could be very high depending on the nationality of school, e.g. Americal and British schools.
just wanna ask tozu... from which planet are you from? or are you a member of the british royal family? anyway congratulations for the successful bragging.
but to answer your question... is 45,000QR enough? nah... everything is so expensive here in qatar. specially the petrol. so better go another place.
frankly 45000 QR are far less for high class / but more than enough for common man, So you decide yourself which category you belong.
as u do job so for my point of view you are a common man .
good luck
You can OWN (not rent) a pearl qatar appartement for your accomodation (for investment).
you are very lucky!!
As I mentioned in one of my earlier post, people who draw gigantic salary, still would like to know whehter it is enough
dear friend, there are families in Qatar, who lives on less than 10,000 Riyals.
It all depends on the "so-called high standard" living. - in case you need a private swimming pool, gym, helicopter etc etc.
the car you should drive must be a BMW 4 wheeler
Hi Tozu,
I don't understand some peoples' comments on here sometimes, not helpful at all. Tozu, I'm going over in October to work in Doha for a similar amount, and I've gone out a few times to look around properties, done all the sums and spoken to people already living in Doha. Your salary is good, I don't know what job you are going for, but a senior manager in a bank will earn around 45,000-55,000QR and we all know how well paid bankers are. It will give you a good standard of living, in a good property, as well as money left over to save. Accept the offer - not just for the money, but also the chance to experience a different life. Don't just take my word for it, have a look at other forum members answers from past questions asked on this website. Anyway, hopefully see you out there.
yes it is more than enough
I think what he means by high standards is getting he's own villa which cost around 20,000 to 25,000 QR, a new car for both of them around 8,000 of course for high standards you need brand new car not second hand, expensive and signature cloths which comes around 5,000 a month, monthly expenses on bills (mobile, internet, water, elec.) 3,500, house helpers of course high standards means getting your things done for you another 3,000, a driver for both of them another 5,000.. well i will not include the food expense for sure its not enough for high standards... so these thing are realistics and not being sarcastics.
45,000 a month is totally sufficient. I think some of these people are being sarcastic with their answers? I've never heard of someone getting that high of salary here...But I am surprised the salary is so high without housing.
You can rent a beautiful flat or villa for 10 - 15 K and rent a car for 3,000 a month.
Gosh if that's not enough, think of all the foreigner Arabs and Asians living on less than 8,000 for the whole family.
it's more than ok, but the real question is how much you were hoping to save ?
12000 min for flat high standard, a car will cost you between 80000 and 170000 depending of the brand, second hand or no? , i guess another car for the wife plus plane cost for 2 persons ,2 or 3 return a year, plus club menbership for two ,plus, plus ,plus
no,definitly is ok, but you need to do your math to find out if the montly saving is ok with you, if that was your goal in the first place by coming here
for high standard of living this will not be sufficient, ask or bargain for more
what wud be my cu out of it for a good advice :)
sure not enough
I think this is not going to be enough for your high quality life style. Double the amount would be more appropriate.
