I am British Citizen but i am from South America. Dual Nationality.

Fluent in English and Spanish.

Married with one child (9 years old).

The package is this.

Salary: 12000 QAR

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your advice.

Not sure if you can advice...

But

My son is quite decent Tennis player.. He is ranked in the top 10.

I have tried to look for academies in Doha, but with no luck.

It's a big move but I don't want to take away his tennis.

But I also know financially we would be better off there and his schooling

Could be better there too.

What I am asking is... Are there any facilities for talented sport kids?

Please don't get me wrong I am not saying his the best player in the world

That needs this attention but I know he loves the sport and i would hate to

Take it away from him.

Thank you again

my honest feeling is that you must request for 1)education allowance, which is vital and that gives you room for some saving. 2) Furnishing allowance of a Fully furnished house. With the above granted i feel you will save at leat 50% of your salary not otherwise.

Well all depends on what you earn now with what you are offered. I will never advice a swich over unless you have a minimum of 30% hike in your package-Qatar is a nice , peacefull place with good and helpfull people and you will love your stay here-God bless

Salary not good because:

1) British National. (Does it make any diff. as far as work is concerned???)

2) Regular Inspector who is Spanish gets more (what about an Indian, Pakistani or Srilankan...can their salaries be used for benchmarking?? Do we know the job profile v/s the said inspector???)

3) An English can't afford a executive life here. Is English executive life diff like an English B/F...:) do they drive a car in reverse or do they sleep under their beds ..whats the diff. BTW where does the OP say that he needs to live an executive life.

@ OP...sorry man...nothing personal with you... just get unnerved by the prejudices people have ....wish you all the best to get the best deal.

if you want to keep your child in an international school you have to pay aprox. Q.R. 25,000/- to 35,000/- per year, so if they can offer education allowance it will be acceptable coz you can manage with Q.R.12,000/- per month for the remaining expenses but without much savings

As a british national this package is very bad..you can negotiate to the maximum..education allowance is a must.

marycatherine is right, here schools are expensive.

If u will get education allowance also, then it will be o.k, otherwise this package is not fair, bcoz with 12000/- an English can't afford an executive life here.

Furnished housing? And as Marycatherine says, a lot of your money will go to school fees.

What about education allowance? The better (and most sought after) schools here are expensive and difficult to find space at. Have you looked into this aspect yet? It could be a decisive factor in your decision.
