Hello,

I am a civil engineer from South East Asia. I did masters in Construction and Real Estate management from Germany. In addition, I have 1.5 years field experience from my home country. Now, I am looking for opportunity in Qatar. Now, I am going to Qatar on next month on visit visa. Guys.....it would be really great if you could give some idea about hardness of finding job there? Also about salary range that I can expect.

Thanks in advance.

Assalamovalykum Shahidullah, i don't think with just 1.5 years experience you will get a good salary. But for sure you will get a job as in the classified now and then i am seeing lot of civil engineers vacancies. It depends on how will hunt for a Job, i have seen some peoples who will come here on the hope of some relative and don't do job hunting and only rely on that relative and that relative keeps on checking with the friends. And also have seem some persons those who hunts the job by there own going to out in the market meeting the companies and in the hotel's they speak to unknown peoples stating that i came on Visit if you know any opportunity kindly let me know. Anyways best of Luck, Keep hope on Allah (swt) .......................

If you have the European studies you will have more chance to get the job, we advise you to come to Qatar through business visa for searching the job. Don’t forget to attest your educational certificate since this is mandatory for transferring your business visa to work permit.

It is all a matter of luck. Doha has just too many people running around looking for jobs. Recently, a leading construction company had advertised a walk-in interview at a local hotel for 22 categories of jobs. The crowd at the hotel was staggering. It was simply impossible for the advertiser to interview so many applicants within the set time limit they had advertised and surely many very qualified candidates would have been left out. The number of job-seekers that had arrived that day reflected the employment situation in the local market.

When you arrive in Qatar, ran an Ad at the Gulf Times about your ability, qualification, skills, target job, etc. An interested company or a company with a vacancy for your skills will definitely get in touch with you. Additionally, keep on applying online.
