Finally an offer - Please advice

Hi everyone,

I just received an offer of QR 7,000. In this amount is included everything except annual tickets to home country which will be paid extra.

This offer is from a local audit company for Senior audit position.

What would you suggest? Is it worth moving to Doha for this offer?

I have 3.5 years of audit experience in a Big 4 company. What do you people think the fair offer would be for this kind of profile?

By the way, I am married and have a little daughter, planning to take my family with me. (Already mentioned to the company)

Please answer ASAP as they are expecting an answer from me.

Thank you in advance,

Thank you all,

I got the point. I'm preparing to send a negotiation letter aiming something high, and wait to see what are they willing to offer. After all the research and consultation with people i think i wont accept anything under 12,000. I believe its fair enough for both sides.

Its not that im desperate for job, but an experience in ME would be the right thing, I guess. :)

7000 Qr is around 2000USD as u r from europe i dont think its a good offer but if u are desparetly looking for job u can join , but the cost of living in qatar is very high

The general rule is that you take a competitive salary in your home country and add 25% then add full housing, transportation, schooling, health care and tickets home.

14k is reasonable, still have allowance to negotiate

I guess u r right.

I was thinking, and i believe i should go with QR 14,000 total. which would brake into 7.000 basic, 5.000 accomm. and 2.000 transp.

So that they maybe offer something between 10,000 and 12,000, and I accept. (this should be sufficient, right?)

Otherwise, i should consider any other opportunity,

and he advice you to ask for 20. Double is already doubtful, making it almost triple is ubsurd! Well, if you are not hard-pressed for a job, try it. The only thing you lose is the opportunity!

Can you please elaborate a little? Why do you think it was a bad advice from mandi?

Thnx

It's a below average offer to your experience & status...anyhow if you're badly in need of a job then it's manageable...but try to negotiate with them.

have a look the link below,

No, your car expenses will be more like 2,000/month. And you won't find a very nice apartment for 5,000. I would go for something more like 8,000 for housing, 2,000 for transportation, and 10,000 salary. And don't forget that little girls grow up - she'll be ready for school in three years!

Thnx Mandi,

I dont have to pay schooling, she is less than a year old.

Anyway, i have to negotiate i guess, but what would be the limit to accept?

maybe, apart of the 7,000 to ask for accommodation 4,000-5,000? What do you think?

And what about car expenses for a month? Is 1,000 enough?

FOR 3 ppl....

Not great, I'm afraid. 7,000 base salary is the absolute minimum needed to sponsor a family. If you are expected to pay rent and schooling out of this amount you won't have anything left over to live on!
