Is this really fair offer? need opinion
Dude, What the offer u r getting is not worth, but present situation you have to think about it, as a canadian passport holder, you can expect more...all the best.
My Dear
,
This offer is very good. $6000/month is very much less for 27 Yrs of experience. It should be at least $15000 us/month. Plus 40 hours/week. Probation should be 3 months only.
Housing is really really very much expensive here.
if you get the following in your package then good
Housing allowance at least 14000 QR/month or free housing
Schooling for children - US/Canadian school (40k-50k/yr tuition fees /-a-t-/ American school)
Interest free car loan
Car allowance
Moving expense from Canada (very important)
Yearly air ticket for the whole family (up to 4 children-very important)
Then I would say, you can consider.
But Canada is the best to work with compare to Doha.
Best regards
Not a resonable offer, minimum for Senior post US$ 9,000..specially technical oil-gas field.
I do not want to be biased with the "nationality" , but when you have 27 yrs of experience 6k USD is very very low.But if you're comfortable with $6000 for 240 Hours/month work, take the offer.
Let's face it. Nationality matters. For a Canadian Citizen (we can even forget your 27 yrs experience), US$6000.00 is NOT a good offer. 60 hours per week? it means you have to work 10hrs per day for 6 days.
Considering the current Financial Climate I think it is a very reasonable offer. But please do try to negotaiate more, as once you are here the negotation stops.
Good Luck and hope you make a decision that suits you.
Hello,
I do not want to dissapoint you, but the offer is not too great. First of all, $6000/month is too too less for 27 Yrs of experience. It should be atleast 10K usd/month. Plus 60 hours/week is too high. One year probation is another point, it should be 3 months or so.
Housing is really really expensive here.
Now if you get the following on top your basic salary
*
* Housing allowance atleast 14000 QR/month or free housing
* Schooling for children - US/Canadian school ( 40k-50k/yr tuition fees @ American school)
* Interest free car loan
* Car allowance
* Moving expense from Canada (very important)
* Yearly air ticket for the whole family (upto 4 children-very important)
Then I would say, you can consider.
Also read the contract line by line in order to avoid future hassles.I just moved from Canada a month back and I have less than 1/3 of # years what you have, and based on my contract I came up with the above opinion.
Good luck. God bless Canada and Canadians. :)
Cheers
