Grade 6 position in a bank ** HELP***
Hello - Does anybody have an idea as to what would be a fair package for a grade 6 ( grade 1 been highest , grade 8 lowest ) managerial position in the securities division at one of the intl banks in Doha ?
I've been asked to provide an "all-inclusive" figure . The only "seperate" allowance is the annual air-fare of 12.5k Qar .So at the very least I'll have to account for rent and the basic overhead.
The person I've been talking to literally mumbled that around 20k per month would work. Seems like a pretty darn low-ball offer to me. I'm a US citizen currently working as a trade- administrator at a asset-management firm .MBA in finance with close to 4 yrs of experience in financial service industry.

assuming the grading structure is similiar (are we possibly talking bout the same bank ?!? ) - looking at your offer ,I most certainly have room to negotiate considering (a) its a higher grade (b) managerial position (c) experience in a relevant position.
ofcourse its not exactly a apples to apples comparision, but the info you gave helps. So did u take them up on the offer or are you negotiating as well :) ??

i recently got offered an investment banking role..they are looking at an all-inclusive figure of around 25k per month. the role is at the analyst level and i have about 18 months experience in corporate finance at a leading firm in Australia and about 12 months experience is general accounting type roles. The role within the bank is grade 7 from my understanding.

my lips are sealed ;-). As for negotiating to get in at Grade 5 - how does that work ? Do you just say you want to start at grade 5 or ask more money ( I most definately will be asking for regardless of grade increase or not ) which then would requre them to bump up your grade ??
on a seperate note - do you know anything about the work culture etc ? oops....did I just let the cat out .. ;-)

Becarefull, demand company accomodation, no allowance because it does not match the price of decent accomodation. Iam not in the banking industry so Iam not sure how the salaries are but 20K is low for me. As a basic plus accomodation plus transport allowance, then yes.
Sounds like HSBC to me.....
The grade six story.....u'll really have to work so hard to move to grade 5...so it's better tht u try to get into the bank at grade 5 itself....
