Housing allowance

hi all I wonder sth very much about allowances. My company say in contract that your housing allowance is X riyal. Now what is the general policy about this allowance do they give you the all amount and say do whatever you want with this money or they just give the adequate money to houseowner and the rest of the allowance will be unavailable for the employee
An example
Allowance is 8000 QR, Rental is 6000 QR
1st option 2000 QR is mine
2nd option 2000 QR is for company
???
Novita is right. Talk to your company and see if they will pay for the total cost of housing then you will never have to worry about your rent increasing.

if u rent ur self, the extra amount will be yours, and note that all new lease contracts will not be applicable for increase except after 2 years, make sure that the landlord dosn't add any increase article to the contract,
and if the company made the rent for u, u will not get any thing
So now u have to choose, but please note that prices are extremely high, and a good place will consume the allowance,

i would do the same as novita suggested..god knws when they will increase again and you will end up paying from your pocket
and it's up to you how to spend it..
it used to be that ppl could manage to save something out of housing allowance.. nowadays they most likely have to ADD some amount to pay for the accommodation
