Hi all,

I come from western europe, and have a degree of a technical school :

I have been offered :

16300 + housing fully furnished with all fees paid + 1 trip back home once a year for a position of audiovisual coordinator in the hotel and convention business.

Do you think that is enough and correct ?

Thank you.

Agreeing with Nic, with ammendment, it should be at least double what you save (not earn) after deducting all extra expenses.

Photon I have yet to meet a true Westerner getting paid 6500 a month. That would be below the poverty line in any EU country, Canada, US, Australia, NZ, etc.

Good ,In Qatar some people from west are having just half of it(6500 QR+all facilities). but depends on job profile and own satisfaction.

The salary seems low, but the housing benefit should be standard. I would also expect private health insurance and car allowance (or the salary equivalent). If you have kids make sure school fees are included.

If you single, you could probably manage on this package, but I doubt you would save much. If you have a family it would be near impossible to maintain a Western European lifestyle here.

Is it better than what you are getting? Only you will know that.

For the expenses in Qatar - you can search the forum and get an idea.

Not worth it, the sacrifice of living in this region.

Salary should be at least double from what you were offered.

I guess the food is paid by Company! The package is not bad but depend of your life style; if you like to drink alcohol, if you like to go to clubs, if you like to spend at least 1 week end per month in the "hot" Dubai and Abu Dhabi I think is not enough.

Good luck
