Kabayan? the air transport officers are under the civil aviation authority, i think their office is in c ring road. try to have your husband check the website and apply online already. it takes time to process applications here. he can also try the website of NDIA--the new airport

Everybody sees how you seem, however, only a few know who you are.

Kaled Ghanem, the position of a flight engineer is almost obsolete. Only the old DC-10 and 727 use the 3-person cockpit anymore. A flight engineer is/was a pilot-in-training, working up the system to become a first offer then captain. So is what you are asking is an airline pilot a good profession? Yes and no. There are very few opportunities in this part of the world to gain enough flight experience to get a job with a major airline. The training, if you don't go the military route, is VERY expensive and there are no guarantees of success. If you DO get hired as a pilot by a major carrier you will be set for life. If you mean you are interested in being an airline mechanic, well that's easier but you still have to find a good school and a company who will hire you. There's a lot of competition in the airline industry.

samiraf85, you could try to search for IT posts that meet your qualificiation, experiences and preferences on qatarairways.com.qa. Or you could write an unsolicited letter and put it into the recruitment letter box at the main entrance of QR main office.

I am sure there are vacancies but whether you fit them/they fit you is another issue.

Grade 7 is more senior than grade 6. Their fringe benefits are also different, both in terms of the types of benefits and the actual amounts received. There are some more differences which you will know when you join and receive the employee handbook.

Fringe benefits are fixed per grade and non-negotiable. Basic salary, however, is negotiable.

I will be in Rev Man Dep. I don´t have yet my date to go.

I think both are executive levels - but naturally Grade 7 would be higher than Grade 6 (so more privileges and entitlements etc.). Grade 8 and above would be managerial and beyond level. Which department are you gonna be in? Are you coming together with me in the Revenue Management department? ;-P ... I'm flying off in the early morning of 18th July. 6 more weeks to go!

Does anyone knows the difference between the grades, for instance, grade 6 and grade 7, what is different???

Dears

Thanks for your kind answers..

Actually I am from freight forwarding industry and I don't have much idea about gradings in airline field. But work in an international airline is my lifetime ambition. Thats y I took 2 IATA diplomas.

Even if salary is little more in any other field i don't think I will get any work satisfaction.. I am passionate about this industry actually...

God bless you..

Last year QA has offered me Grade07 position " as a Senior Flight Technical Officer Position" having a basic of QR11,500 (The salary grade has been revised last year)...Hopefully Checker you may have got the revised one....

I don't think you can negotiate on the grade because its all set and defined by the Payroll department... I must say QA pays less than the market current package... So think twice before accepting the offer...Sometimes you may get a good package outside......

Best of luck!!!!!

Hi Monu,

After negotiation, Qatar Airways is giving me a basic of QR8,500. (Think I'm in a Grade 6 position only). Not sure how the salary scale is like for rest of the other grades ... but I think you can try and negotiate an additional QR1,000 or so on top of what they offer. All the best to you! =D
