Hi All,

I came to know that in almost all Q Companies recruitment team give more preference to their family members, friend & known once to fill the job vacancies in their companies even though they have many CV's of people really eligible and deserved.

Recently i came to that QATALUM recruitment team is doing the same, Is that true and if its how can be it stopped.

Please give your valuable replies.

Thanks

99.9% of the companies work here on "WAASTA" (meaning Recomendation). I personally feel the Gulf region really lacks any kind of competency.

This can be stopped only when people who get hired at the Top management work FOR the company, for the betterment of the company and not just for the sake of making money and livng life as it goes on. But unfortunately I havent come across anyone who has done this.

The problem with this is that, very often after someone has worked in a company for a while and has become trusted by his boss.He then refers his friends and family and since he is trusted the boss relies on him to bring in someone who is worthwhile.Very often you find they get someone not fully qualified for the job but have taken him on trust of his friend or relative. This person ends up learning on the job or ends up getting one foot in door as they say then may be moves on from there. Often times they bypass people who are very qualified and have a lot of experience and end up with someone less experienced.

There is not much one can do about this,it is already in their mentality. I remember this happening to a friend of mine from London when he went to Dubai. He was a very qualified and experinced network engineer. And within weeks of him getting there the Indians ( no disregared to indians)working there brought one of their's to fill that post which was vacant for months and they did not bother to fill, but as soon as my friend came they felt threatened and brought someone who knew sod all to fill the post and by passed my friend who would have been a great asset to them.

it is very hard to stop it..thats why u c many companies here are taken by same nationality from the top to down they are all family and friends. it is really stupid idea bcz they keep recruiting even uneducated people but as long as they are their family/friend they offer them a job. shame!
