Remuneration package for pinoy- worth taking?

I'm a skilled worker (Machinist) asking insights for the offered remuneration package.

I have been offered a Machinist Supervisor position for Doha with a "Packaged deal" and starting salary of QR2500. I wish to know if this is worth taking. Free accommodation, vacation after 2years, etc. Except free food, I find this relatively same as what Riyadh project has offered me prior to mentioned offer nga in Qatar, which is USD700. Tinurn down ko yung sa Riyadh coz I got scared of the restrictions. Especially sa religion. Natakot ako baka di ako makapagsimba. Please share some insights as to whether this offer for a skilled worker is reasonable. Although inevitable ang QR300 after 6months probationary, okey padin kaya ito? I saw a lot of comments under this site na mataas ang cost of living in Qatar. I worry baka di enough ang offer. Somebody mentioned na QR300 is reasonably enough for food allowance there. Is this true? Less that and I can save the rest of compensation right? I've had my time socializing and it had taught me well. So now I must say I want to save majority of my income. The interviewer also mentioned that I may be assigned to do Marketing task and that they may require me to get a driver's license which the application costs I shall bear. The firm is under Teyseer group by the way. This is my first time in Middle East. Thanks in advance.

ones you sign up with the above package you mentioned, theres no turning back. Increment will be imposible during your 2 yrs contract. believe me you will cry a river but increment will be a thing of the past.

Here's a good tip. Heard that UniStaff in Boyle Makati is starting or started to hire personnel for Hamad Hospital. Your skills will be better paid. Not to discourage you, but QR2500 they have offered is a bit small and be aware you'll be investing a lot of your time, effort, and a lot more. Remember, when you get employed and want to leave you can't come back in Qatar within a 2 year period. Forget about NOC that's asking for the moon! So, please think and look for alternative better paying jobs here in Qatar. Don't compare Saudi pay scale with Qatar. Traditionally Saudi has a lower pay scale. Try to check UniStaff thru POEA or directly at their website. God bless you with your job hunting.

if you were applying for that job with that same compensation two years ago, it would be ok, but for now, it'll be enough for you to survive but no savings will be there or you'll having difficulty starting one.

as far as being here and to lived by, your salary will do you just fine, but then again, you're not just here to work, aren't you? if you plan on staying most of your time at home, then that starting salary would be ok, but going to some places and spending some would deplete it even before the month's end. And you've also mentioned that even driving license application you will bear? that'll be taking advantage, i guess coz they gonna use you for that and still the expense is on you? try to reason on this.

and just a suggestion, if you happen to accept that make sure to discussed the possibility of increment and other benefits upon completion of probationary period coz if you'll stick to that 'till the end of your first year, you'll have no savings to offer back home. ^_^

The package in Qatar is too low. Two years i too long.

It always seems impossible until it's done.

the wanting for more is always there. even people who earns QR20K or more says it is still not enough...

humans never get satisfied with what he has now and will always crave for more...

once we get to realize the value of getting only the "real needs" rather than "wanting for more"

... our lifes' outlook will drastically change for the better.

good luck on your decisions kabayan...

i say kabayan, not ok, should negotiate maybe much higher cause cost of living here is high, we cant here na "ok lang", since, we are already here, we should have better salaries right? enough to shoulder our expenses here and our country.. we should know our price considering our profession, experience and cost of living here... we should remove our saying "pwede na", not applicable here...im sad and dissapointed sometimes, we are taken for granted if you didnt notice.. they even offer me job with no housing allowance...whats that? so we should be confident enough ok kabayans?

Thanks marines75. I was surprised to know the package is way below standard. But I guess it's very well the same to that of Riyadh offer, isn't it?

Your starting salary is very low for a Machinist Supervisor and aside from this you will spend for food, food prices here have gone up 50% or more. Try to negotiate for more at least double the offer.
