Hi,

I am being offered QAR 14000 (Basic)+ QAR 4000 (Allowance) along with health and medical insuarance. Rest all expenses i.e. accomodation, transportation are mine. The company will arrange for a visa and return ticket for my wife. Is this a good offer? Will i be able to maintain a standard lifestyle and also at the same time make descent savings?

Please help me out in taking a correct decision.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sumit

I want to add that as a Qatari National, I make

15000 (starting salary) in a Legal deparment plus expenses. (I don't know if that helps you judge what is fair).

Your salary is basically 18,000 + medical and insurance.

You could live alright on that to be honest.

If you manage to live out of Doha, get a small apartment (between 5,000-7,000) you should be able to save nicely :) (since utilities don't amount to much either)

But as an average you need about 10-13 thousand Riyals a month. Is it ok for you?

do search the forum ... your question have been answered before. Though you are not clear with your question ... Flat would be depend on the area, school fee depend on the school as well. Food also depend on your taste ...

Probably you should post us your offer in a fresh thread, then the other members can give you their opinion.

It is true that finding a satisfactory accomodation here is very difficult.

Hey Sumit, To find a job in Doha is easier than finding an accommodation. It all depends on how much money you wanna save? Or if you look the other way, you have to decide how much you need to spend? If you are gonna stay with your family in doha, its gonna cost you at least 7K per month (unfurnished accommodation, clean one), you would b lucky if u find a furnished one..then it depends on your life style..whether u need to spend 3-4K per month for expenses, if u hv a school going kid, its gonna cost more....

Finding a good accomodation is one of the most difficult problem here. Better to go to n agency, they have many properties. in Wakra, the rents are really cheaper a little bit, and it's immediately near Doha. In Doha a 2 bedroom fully furnished flat starts around 7.000 riyals. Villas are very high, around 13-20.000.

Thanks willys, novita and blueocean ...

Lifestyle for me is a comfortable day to day living i.e. a good and safe place to live, good meal and some daily dose of entertainment ... i as such have no vices ... so considering these factors will QAR 18000 be sufficient for me to live a good life with descent savings ... also can you please recommend me the ways (i.e should i go to a real estate agent or look by myself)to go for a house hunt in Doha

Yup, its depends on your lifestyle.. But in my case with, 1 baby, living at Wakra (about 15-20 minute from Doha), the house rent is about 4000, monthly expenses about 4000. Its more than emough for me. Hope this info helps.
