hi there folks,

i am being considered for a managing director post in a french joint venture company in qatar and I am quite disappointed with the offer given to me. 20k qar with no housing per month. Their argument is that other managers in their org are not earning as much. I have been here for 3and half years and the reason why they are considering me is for my experience in the qatari market. So I need your input, how much should I be asking? I think 33K per month is a reasonable amount for me to live my desired lifestyle, which is ard 8kUSD per month.

I need your inputs.

If your desired lifestyle is 8k usd, I wouldn't come for 20k qar with no housing. Most contracts here now are base salary + housing allowance + car allowance + flights home (1 to 3 flights per year).

If your currently in Singapore, your lifestyle will definitely suffer moving to Qatar and you deserve to be compensated. good luck
