Salary for Graduate Civil Engineer
By New Civil Engineer •
Hi
I am a uk gradute civil engineer with a masters degree from a uk college.
I have a job offer from a western company to work in Qatar.
They have offered me a monthly salary of 11,000 Qatari Riyal with no other benefits.
Is 11,000 a month enough to live on and to save money?
Should I ask for transportation, accommodation expenses?
Thank you for your help
Don't even think twice about it. Tell them to double it at least. This country is really expensive and 11,000 is nothing monthly. When you come from the West you have to remember you're going to sacrifice to live here so there has to be a benefit to make it up, which is usually the money. 11,000 you won't be saving anything. A decent apartment will run you over 6,000 and a car will cost you at least 3,000/month if you finance or rent.
Too low.
Not good at all ........ refuse it ...... without accom. ...........
I do not think its a good package for a Masters degree holder. At least they should provide you company accommodation and transportation or allowance for both. You should negotiate with them. But if you are quite young / inexperienced / bachelor willing to gain experience and desperately looking for job than its ok. Otherwise try for better options.
Regards
if you going to stay here alone that package you can manage, but if you going to bring your family that is not enough you should ask them transpo and accom.
thanks
