Is this a good salary, is my savings are practicable ?
Thanks for your inputs ,specially gk269 & 9chimera11. I'm telling you frankly, i have some commitments.my plan is to stay in qatar for 1-2 yrs & then go back to my country & settle.currently i'm wkn in kuwait. i was here for 5 yrs. so i dont think much abt entertainment. i want to do my basics, like food, accom & to save as much as i can. so from that perspective, pls let me know is my saving is realistic.
1. Acco as a batchlor is not bed space, 1 room & as a family is like componed vila.
Thanks again.
If you are working in WestBay or closer to that area you won't find a decent accommodation for that price range. Then you will have to move bit further [like Wakra maybe]. Then if you are planning to take a taxi to work its gonna cost you more [The minimum is 10 Riyals one way, so even if you live within 3 kilometers you will still have to pay about 600 Riyals at least [this is only for coming and going to work. Then there are journeys to the shopping mall and etc which will cost extra]
Food you should be able to handle with that cost if you manage not to get distracted with so much choices available here. :) [This includes never eating out]
I find its the costs that falls in to 'others' category that gives me the major expenses. Such as clothes, household items, etc. [the only time I went for a movie it cost me about 50 Riyals for the ticket O.o - but it was hobbit. So worth it]
You may want to rethink the amount you are trying to save. :) At least for the first few months I don't suppose you'd be able to save much.
For a CA I think that salary is too low. My friend is a CA and he earns more than QR25k
Your expectations are unrealistic.. especially family option.
There are people who save even from a meagre QAR 1,000 salary and for some even QAR 40k is hand to mouth. So it totally depends on you. In any case, I think your saving plans are a bit optimistic. Set yourself a realistic savings plan of something like 6K-8K a month. Doha isnt the most happening place so you should try and enjoy yourself as well. You will also grow in your career and saving opportunities will increase in the future so dont foucs too much on saving huge amounts and killing yourself. If you have liabiltiies and other financial priorities, then no comments...
