I just want to know if there's some possibility to work in Doha in the electrical domain? I'm French, so a speak French, Tunisian (arabic), a little bit German and a little bit Spanish.I've got an engineer in electronics diploma from a well-known french engineering school and a technician diploma in electronics and industrial informatics.

I wonder what's keeping you wondering, really. Bet you won't get half that salary back in the UK, or anywhere else in the 'developed' countries. I suspect you might instead be wondering whether you can get an even better deal. Ha!

the company offers $45000 USD a year on top of that they give car,accomoadation and all bills included,plus free food.

If it is 30k or above, its a good competitive salary. I have also moved to Doha, working as a Sr. Electrical Engineer. I believe we may have similar credentials: BS (ECE-2001), MS (CS-2002) - Michigan. My salary including car/housing is 27k. I know it could have been higher if I was US/Canadian/British citizen, and not a Pakistani national.

Yes, the cost of living here is higher than most US/Canadian cities, especially the rent. But then there are no taxes either.

You may still want to do bit of a calculation, as well as consultation with your family, since the move involves more than just money.

the position is not in the oil industry (not in QP)so will i be still asking for 3x. The Company is not a private sector either it's public.

If you go for less than 35k Riyal a month minimum plus housing and car allowance you'd be fooling yourself. Inflation is 19% on food, 15% on everything else and if you want something good you have to ship it in.

7 years experience means you know what you are doing.

My rule is take your pretax salary and multiply it by double or triple of what you make now

our sr. electrical engineer is an old guy now and he gets like 15k QR plus house accomodation and car allowance and other benefits.
