Should I accept job offer from Grand Regency Hotel?

Hi All,

I am a single female from Eastern Europe. I got a job offer from Grand Regency Hotel in Doha as a Guest Relation officer.
They are offering me a salary of QRS 2000 + accommodation +
meals + airfare. Working hours are 9 hours per day/6 days a week.
Do you think this is a good job offer or not? What do you know about that hotel?

Thank you!

Don't listen to everybody else, it all depends upon what your circumstances are and what you are giving up to come here to Doha. The typical hotel salary would be around 1500 QAR per month depending upon role. The hotel is well known with a good reputation.

If all your meals and accommodation are being provided (expect to share a room) then you should be able to save some money. Have you asked if your flight home is every year or every two years? As being away from Europe for two years is a long time. Make sure that you read up about Qatar there are few attractions. You will work in a very multi-cultural workforce and the summers are Hot!

Good luck!

Also, be sure that you understand the principle of sponsorship that applies here in case you want to quit you will need a release from your employer and know that there's no such thing as job-security.

A friend told me he didn't get paid by them, unfortunately he was so stupid not to have a contract so they told he was volunteering. Verbal agreements don't mean nothing as in most places here, just a warning. I think it's a great experience for you but they could easily add a digit (0) to that salary for the price they ask their guests and the hours of work. Make sure if you sign a contract you have a trust-person that is able to confirm it matches the english version. Keep us posted on your decision please.

Well dear here there are so much expenses besides accomdation & meal. In my opinion i think the salary is very low & also the working hours by law is 8 every where, not 9. Ask them to increase salary upto 3500-4000. Wish u best of luck.
