So I quit my job, can anybody help me figure this out?
By kamel_ben_mbarek •
my contract states that I have a 5500 qar composed of 2000 basic and 3500 accommodation and other stuff. I know the law states that I take something like 75% of a salary for each year (just finished 2 years), but I actually take 5500 per month as a salary and the company is providing accommodation and transport which is the actual basic salary.
what do you guys think will happen? and if they calculate the payment on the basic salary of 2000 can I do something about it?
Thank you
Dear kamel, If I am not wrong you are referring to your gratuity which will be awarded at your end of service. It is paid according to your basic pay, which is as stated, 2000 QR. Up on completion of 1 year service, you will be granted 21 days of your basic pay as gratuity (i.e. 2000/30= 66.6; 66.6x21=1399 is your one year gratuity).
Ignore the message if you are not referring to gratuity. Thanks and have a good day.
You'll get paid based on what your contract states. If your contract states basic of 2,000, then it'll be based on that.
Why not just give him the information he requested?
If you quit you are the loser ! Be happy if you are getting paid every month. If you are getting 5500 + accommodation + transport, its good. Each company has a different break-up. Its your choice to stay in their accommodation or to stay stay in your private accommodation by claiming the allowances. Since you are there for 2 years you will know better.
