I received a job offer of assistant teacher in a nursery. We propose me to live in a shared room in a villa with the other nursery personal and the lunch is paid by the company. Transportation frim home to work is also paid by the company. The month wage: 1100$ per month.
I am a French girl and I have a bachelor degree in English and Arabic languages.

What do you think about that?

wait for another year of no work?

The salary is really low but manageable. Honestly, your low experience is what matters. Try to gain more and maybe you'll get what you deserved. But you won't any experience with no work. Money is not all that matters for you NOW, you need to gain experience.

And Kiwi, don't give false hope. Where did you get your figures?

WITH YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, you should be looking at QR10,000 - 12,000 with private accommodation (1-2 bedroom apartment) included and a flight home each year. Don't settle for anything less. Don't under-estemate your worth.

FIRST, try to negotiate a better offer, if they refuse , then accept or give it time and find a better job.

This is recruiting time here.. the salary they are offering is very less with your qualification. Don't apply Asian Schools. Apply Arab/European schools. such schools are offering QR 7500- 8000, which is bettr than this option. 3-4 K is very less compared to Qatar's cost of living

If you can get a letter stating that they will give you NOC after one or two years, you may take the offer. Normally, you won't get NOC, and then you're stuck. But you can try to ask for it.

Thank you for your help.

The problem for me is that I don't find a job that's why I thought about zccepting this offer even if the wage seemed to be very low...

I have 2 years experience as administrative assistant , I am fluent in English Arabic and French, and despites of that I don't have any answer to the applications that I send.

I don't know how to do to...

Salimaa.. here's how it goes in Qatar

When you come to Qatar for work.. you enter with a work visa (sent by your employer/company) and you'll have to stay under their sponsorship and work with them for at least 1-2 years... after this IF you get another good offer, you'll have to take NOC (No Objection Certificate) from your company/sponsor for your sponsorship transfer, so that you can work for the any other company.... (which is normally not very easy)

So I suggest, better not take any risks and search/wait for other good offers before you come here.. else I don't think you'll be very happy to stay in Qatar for one or two years with 4,000 salary package..

..considering that while in Qatar, you might have to get a No Objection certificate from your present employer in Qatar to move over to any better offer.

A villa might sound to be big, but, how many are to share the villa ? And who is paying for your air travel ?

Shared accomodation = shared food + shared communication expenses + shared expense over sightseeing or going out.

Hmmph...While everyone is entitled to his/her own views, my view is that your package is a tad low and you have to really think through to save something.

Cheers

u realize there is an annual contract and sponsorship rules and all that?

u shouldnt come to Qatar with the purpose of changing employer anytime soon

take ur time measure ur options and make a decision

still 4000 QR is nothing actually

receptionists get this salary with no degree at all

You can consider the offer, it is not bad but how about your job there, do you receive a good salary?

Agree with LP...

$1100 per month is QR 4,000.. which is very low

considering you have a degree in English and Arabic, Im sure you can get way better offers than this...
