i am being offered by my qatari sponsor a salary of QR1,000.00 + 200 food allowance... after 3 months they will have to start deducting a portion/part of my salary for my placement fee (several months). i already shouldered my medical fee worth P2,780.00... but my local agency is asking me for a processing fee worth P14,700.00, is that valid? thanks

Living conditions and expenses are very high here.

First you have to LIVE HERE. Save money, then send to your family.

Consider the facts:

1. Will they provide accom.

2. Extra timing allow.

3. NOC if you got another offer(All offers will be more than 1000).

4. Flight tickets.

5. Annual Leave.

6. Your expense.

7. How much you can save.

Rethink about this offer; its your life.

Before you take up the job, you need to understand a couple of things

1 - Qatar has only one taxi company – Mowasalat / Karwa, not sure when the others will start. Private taxi is illegal.

2 - Salary of Qr.1,000/- maybe ok (Can’t believe such a low sal. though for a driver) , if they pay for food, lodging, uniform, yearly ticket, medical

3 - Food allowance of Qr.200.00 may not last for more than 3 days if you have only lunch and dinner outside. If you cook then maybe a week

Please get more information about your job and income, as I do not use the taxi much, when I do the cries of the drivers is unbearable. So please check before coming. Most importantly, food, lodging, uniform, yearly ticket, medical, number of work days per week. number of hours per day. Overtime

I hope some of the Karwa drivers can respond to this thread, problems faced by them at the company

Tol, First of all your manpower agency is overcharging you for the processing fee of your papers. Second your salary of 1200 qatari riyals is a pittance as a driver working 12 hours a day with one day off in a week. Standard of living here is very high. You will only regret coming here and will think of coming back to your country as soon as possible.
