About Police Clearance from a country in which you have lived for over 5 years but not your own country

What is the validity period that the Qatar Authorities want & accept when they need the police clearance? I know in the UK and Canada the validity is about 12 months from the date of issue ( from another country ) If I want to be in Qatar in July & get a police clearance from where I am presently will it be valid??
Please respond as I am going nuts if I should do it now or later?Thanks a lot

In the UAE the police clearance certificate has a stated validity of 3 months from the date of issue. I figured it was a license to run wild for 90 days as if I got into trouble, I could produce the certificate saying I was an upstanding resident.
