Although I'm new in Qatar, I quickly learned to pick an area as close to your work as possible. Traffic will only get worse in the coming years..

Hi. I'm contemplating a move from uk in the next three weeks I need a clean half decent 1 bedroom apartment in a good area of Doha. Seems to be plenty of agents on the web but some good advice from anyone out there would be much appreciated. Is a budget of 5000 to 6000 qtrs unreasonable?

Prices fluctuate quite a bit in Qatar. Very affordable prices can be found in Al-Wakra, but you sacrifice the drive. If you are looking more for a luxury lifestyle, there's the Pearl Qatar where the prices (today at least) start in the 3/4 thousand dollar range.

Take a look at property listings at www.mycoreo.com to give you an idea.
