cost of living in Doha, single man

zuco_dm
By zuco_dm

Hello! I am a single man offered an asistant restaurant manager position for 7300 QR monthly, paid accomodation, utilities, transportation and food. I was wondering if this is a good offer??
I will be sharing my flat with another employee from the company...
What are expenses like?
What do expats do for fun?

Thanks!

ExpatG - room rates are pretty consistent (ly high) here, and for poor quality accommodation. Better short term accommodation can be had in Dubai and Bahrain ;)

Yeah that is a fact about them birds, I have been seeing them ever since the WC, or even before that ;-)

About the rooms, I don't think you can walk into a hotel here with a woman you are not married to. Worse still, if one of them is asian :-))

There were women in there

Women are nothing but trouble. Fun here cost much more than in other part of the world. It's a bit like "demand & supply" currently the supply is very low here, hence the demand and cost very high!

Funny enough I have observed alot more asian birds in the hotels lately, is that because of the Asian cup or what.

Life for a single mane is hard here my friend. People come here to make tax free dollars not to have fun.

Colt45 me old mate, is that a fact about the asian birds?

Does this mean that the rents for the rooms by the hour are coming down?

Those asian birds don't fly away, they're here to stay ;-)

QAR 7500 is a decent salary for a single man, who gets food, transport, accommodation and utilities included.

There is a lot to do for fun, sand-dunning, jet skiing, diving, sports, movie halls, etc.

You can also meet a good bunch of people here on QL to hang out with if you wanna.

I didnt see the guy say anything about having fun with women...he just asked about what people do here for fun, and there are plenty of things to do if you know the right people in the right places :P

That's a good salary for a bachelor. Expenses would depend on how simple/extravagant your life is. There's no tax on products here but in my opinion, they're still quite pricey. There are different activities that you can do for fun, it all depends on your preferences.

Zuco, Happygolucky is right - you should use the search option and find more information that will help you find your answers. After your research, you can try posting specific questions and see if anyone can assist.

FYI, it's quite difficult for us to give our comments to a very general question where everyone's situation is widely variable. We would be concerned about giving you any definitive advice, which you may rely on but later find that the variables in your particular situation doesn't work out well.

And also, many of the seniors here have seen and answered the same or similar questions posted over the years and while they are very kind-hearted and helpful but may not be inclined to repeat themselves yet again. Trust you understand.

Why everyone talking about women when the OP didn't mention women in his post?

You shouldn't be asking cost of living with women as one of the requirements... both don't go together....:)

I would suggest, use the search option and you would find lot of information to all your queries.

oh, and with your salary, i don't think you will be able to do a lot of women, as there is a quite high competition among men here..
