Rent will go down after barwa will land its 1st 1900 Budget home & now bank will start asking loan from the new apartment owner who took loan but till date were paying only interest not actual installments.
Nearly 40% flat are empty but owner not giving at reduce rate yet but will soon come down..not much but at least 25%...
Now also if Companies going for whole building rent agreement 2 bhk are at the rate 6500-7000 per flat but not at retail hire...
Dubai real estate also complete down but they are not accepting..
All what go high beyond its real value have to come down..not today then tomorrow it will...
only high incomers will benefit as propmters need to pays banks so they reduce rents i.e 9K to 5K, but for the middle and low incomers (my category) we will not benefit because there is no offer in this catefgory, hopefully after the completion of barwa project..
I hope it goes down, but I believe there is still a supply/demand imbalance in the industry.
I pessimistically think that rents will stay about the same for the next few years, and may actually rise.
One thing that might result in rents declining is if a lot of Qatari companies get rid of a lot of ex-patriate staff due to the economic downturn, or if forecast numbers of people moving to Qatar don't arrive.

Most Likely.
Take a look - Gulf-times December 3 2008 issue - page 11 (half page advertisement!) by Qatari Itallian Group.
Studio - 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom with A?C, non furnished -QR 35,800 at yearly rate --- that's QR 2,983 monthly rate.
Flat - e bedroom, kitchen, 2 bathroom, hall A/C - QR 58,500 - and that'sQR 4,875 monthly rate
and a lot more. these are available on Bn omran, al nasser, al kheesa, al mansoura najma, al sadd, umghulina, new doha.
All speculations are in that theory; however, it seems very far in reality.
We all hope that at least 25% lower rental within six (6) months time would take effect.
Lets pray for it!!
Cheers..
