Hi...Want to buy a secondhand car but its road permit expired last year june 2012,is there any extra penalty for that when i transfering in to my name ?,for inssurece & renewal how much cost.plz advise me. thanks

at the testing center you will pay less than QR150.

TPL insurance = QR400 (4-cylinders)

Traffic(estimarah) = QR100

Driving a vehicle on the road w/o renewal of its license(Estimarah) = QR1500

(that is if you where caught)

so better ask the owner to renew the car first before you buy it.

maybe the reason why he didnt renew that is bceause there is a "major fault" on the car when he bring that in the testing center.
