Is there any private clinic in qatar or hospital that i can give birth which cost only 10,000 riyal. Cause my doctor said if i give birth in doha clinic it will cause me around 20,000 to 25,000 riyal. I dont want in hamad hospital. So pls can u suggest other private hospital that will cost me less? Thank you.

Just to update this thread - my wife gave birth at the Cuban Hospital in Dukhan this weekend and the service and care was amazing! Even though we had medical insurance, and could have gone to Doha Clinic or Ahli Hospital where the costs of QR20k+ would have been covered, my wife wanted to go to Cuban Hospital - the total cost there was QR200 and even though its a 45min drive to get there, it is well worth it.

If it all possible...go to Hamad Women's Hospital. I had my daughter there... four months ago... Only downside- you canoot have your husband with you during delivery. My husband was able to come and see my baby and I immediately though...no issues... And though I have nervous and had many misconceptions about "men being not allowed" to your room and things like that... It was all pretty cool in the end... Would do it again...

I talk about all of it in detail...living in Doha as an expat woman...here...http://jaznajalil.wordpress.com/

Our company has issued a new healthcard aside from my gov't issued healthcard which caters private hospital.

I am thinking of changing to private hospital (since i am currently going to this healthcenter and had a horrible experience last check up) for my prenatal check up then go at hamad for delivery.

Will there be any problem in time for delivery? or i do i need referrals from transferring from one hospital to another?

If my Cuban Shotputter had conceived, then I'm sure we would have utilized Hamad Hospital

Thelo the unwise.

Most Qataris dont go to Britain or Germany for delivering their babies, they do it here coz the facilities in Hamad is well enough for this small operations.

For other surgeries they may go to other countries coz the facilities and doctors maybe good.

As for the OP, he/she asked for 'Giving birth in qatar' not for any other operations so answer to tat - orelse, gulp one hot cup of karak !

I had a very nice experience at HMC. My boss, the CEO of our company had his wife delivered their first baby at HMC.

Thelo, Hamad Hospital is surely not a 'First class' coz its not any hotels room tat you can rank it 1st...2nd or 3rd. !

Now, getting back to the services...m sure its one of the best hospitals in this country !

You forgot, they cured your rabbies n Dengue ! :)

My friend gave birth to her baby 2 days ago at Wakrah Hospital (also Hamad). I am surprised to say it was great. Kind Staff, Clean & Sterile Envirionment, good service. She had a normal delivery. Total charges were like QR 104. I saw the bill.

Do you or hubby have insurance, you can try at Al Ahli Hospital..normal delivery is 14,000 and excellent service as well. But why are you afraid in Hamad, any private hospital will turned you in hamad if there is risk. They have all the hi tech equipment there. If you don't want to stay in normal room you can reserve ahead of time for VIP room.

MM: Giving birth at home is now a thing of the past. Midwives are trained professionals who can handle complex situations. About a decade back a colleague of mine tried this procedure of having delivery done at home for his first child. His child is abnormal. Whenever I see that child, the inside of me holds the father responsible for the condition of the child. The father did not repeat the mistake for his other children who are normal and healthy.
