I have set up my Comsat 90CM dish for the reception of hotbird channels. But my problem is that the majority of my channels are in arabic, further more my reciever is not detecting channels in the freq range between 10, 7** - 11,8** and 12,5**-to the very end..Is this normal in Qatar? Or shud I change the location of my dish for fine-tuning?? Pls advise...

Don't u know someone who can re-tune ur hotbird settings??? Coz i fear what if u will loose ur even 400 channels while doing restting on ur own...I too have hotbird(i've even nilesat and asiaset) but always prefer to call the person who has knowledge in resetting and adjusting the dish..thnx.

So that clearly means that I have setup my dish in the wrong direction, as right now I am receiving only 400 channels. Thanks buddy..

If you have an "automatic search" function, there should be some 2000 channels on Hotbird.

Appreciate your quick response..So that means there are more english channels available for Hotbird...Right now I am recieving close to 10 english channels and i have tuned my dish by setting up a freq of 12,111 in my satlink reciever..

You should 'finetune' your dish. A signal strength of over 80% and a signal quality of over 70% is easily achieved for the Hotbird satellite with a 120 cm dish.
