There are families who looks for experienced maids with good spoken english. it take some to find a proper one. if you are in a free visa, better do on a part-time basis to earn bit more. I believe many are doing that to earn more. Good luck and hope you fill find a right placement.
She has 9 years experience and obviously can ask for what she feels she is worth. I know many that pay well above that for maids.
Rose4me I think the previous guy had a valid point... the rate is determined by the market... so if she is asking considerably above the market rate then it would be hard "to help her". In other words he is asking what differentates her from other maids on the market and it is his way of trying to understand her qualifications and potentially either help her or suggest an adjustment to her expectations...

Why would someone hire a Srilankan maid for QR.1800 when they are easily available for QR.1000 from an agency? What's your speciality?
