It all depends upon where u have an account with which bank in India. If u have with corporation bank or syndicate bank, it is best to send by National Exchange in Souq Faleh. If ur having with ICICI bank either Gulf Exchange or Habib Exchange. etc. It is not a must to have an account here in Qatar. However, if u need to send electronically or thru online then u need to have an account with Doha Bank or Commercial Bank who have tie up with UTI and ICICI respectively. When all these are in the range of 7-15 riyals ( delivery time from instant to 2-3 days), there is western union or Uae exchange who charge bet 20-25 for immediate receipt of money. Pls tell the situation to get a proper reply.

Sending money through online banking is easy but expensive. I once sent 300 QR to India through HSBC. They cut 60 QR as service charge. Can you believe it ?

So I now depend on Money exchanges. Problem is driving to one of these exchanges in the city and parking the car is a big hassle !!

..yes...i have been doing it from Doha Bank...i've SB account with Doha Bank and doing online transfer to my Federal Bank account in India. They are charging Qr.10 for transfer, and credit happening within 24 hours. Their exchange rate is comparatively better than exchanges.
