hi walkabout ... the main nationalities for housemaid are indonesian, filipino, indian or srilankan. I have some friends with ethiopian maid. But one of them she bring it from home (my girlfriend is ethiopian with german husband), and the other friend's maid sponsored by her brother who working here in Qatar Foundation.

If you can't be bother to do the paperwork with the immigration ... you can go through agent. Is not cheap but less hassle (my friend brought her filipino maid through agent and i think she spend 6.500 QR for paperwork and everything else).

PS: Pls dont bite the bait from other posters. :-)

they are vary ... but normally the going on rate around between 20 to 25 QR an hour. And for live in if you not sponsoring them around 1.300 QR and above.

If you sponsoring them ... would be around 800 QR to 1.300 QR a month.
