Release means.. they will give to you release from their company to other company. it means with visa. you change your visa to other company. ( this is no give any company if they have business), if no business, and may be they plan to close the company, may be they will give.
but NOC is
they cancel your visa. and you need work with another company with in 2 years, they give a no objection letter/certificate. this is NOC.
if they give release you can stay here until to when your visa will expire.
but they make cancel and give NOC only you can stay max 1 weeks here. and just go out from here, and you can come back with another Sponsor with NOC .
if you can find another company as possible you can transfer ,because you have noc..but if they cancelled your visa and they are telling you that they will send you in your hometown...if you want to apply again you can easily comeback because you have noc..goodluck

After cancellation of Visa, you have only 7 days to leave Qatar.
You can stay if u have a job.. I am not sure how can he cancel and give you release at the same time...
