PAYA and LAMB LEG are one and the same. Paya is called in local language ( urdu or hindi) and LAMB LEG is named PAYA. Both are same.

yes laat of Bakra (leg of lamb) as mentioned...they roast it or rather burn it where the hair is burnt and its precooked. The one we get Australian one is not roasted rather direct leg of Lamb.

There is a difference in Lamb Leg and Paya

Lamb leg is from sheep. and is meat (muscle) with the bone inside

Paya on the other hand is called trotters (in english)

Ask any butcher and they may arrange it for you.

Anyone please educate me if I am wrong.

See guys, Even if they are roasting the legs you should do it again as there will be a lot of hair on them which are not gone in the process.

Surely Xena,

Paya is an oriental curry dish prepared by the bony parts of lamb's lower legs :)

be specific...

a roasted leg is COOKED!

Do you want to know where to buy a RAW leg that you can roast yourself?

Your questions are confusing.

By anonymous• 1 May 2011 14:58

miraaj, Butchers are not roasting the lamb legs. You should buy them raw and roast yourself.

I think I will have to deputize myself as the All-Caps Police here in QL from now on.

Mr. Miraaj, please don't post in ALL CAPS because that is the same as shouting and is considered impolite.

I hope you will find the roasted lamb leg that you're looking for based on Xena's reply above.
