10k is what they pay for administrative assistants over here. You need more than 20k, to live and support your wife

I agree with hms ...

these are pros and cons but i guess turning down the offer is not a good decision , u can negotiate for few things , like accomodation and transport allowance ....

i am sure this offer is way better than what u r earning back home

but as hms says ur life , ur decision

Wrong decision by the way, here people will debate on salary based on their nationality, yes this salary is low for Europeans, Americans, GCC citizens, but for Indians and other Asian citizens, this is the salary you will get when u enter GCC,

Okay, it is your decision and your job, good luck,

I don't think it's worth the trouble. You come to a country like this to save money and secure your future. You jump into a job that would offer you a salary that LOOKS high compared to what you get paid in your home country. But later you realize that living expenses are really high here and end up saving very little and sometimes nothing. Why don't you otherwise earn a little less but spend some quality time with your family if you work back home? 11k is less I'd say. To live a decent happy life, you'll need at least 20k. Else, if you're happy with a very average life, accept it.

By the way, the new rule - you need to prove you get 13k as your salary if you plan to take your family here.

Guys, its all about preferences. I would say on 11,000 K he will be spending it atleast 4-5 k on house and approximately 3 k on food and cost of living for two persons. This means he will be spending 8-9 K per month and will live a very moderate life style.

So the question is what will you be saving? I dont see more than 1000 Qr per month on an average. Which is 13,000 odd indian ruppees.

So is that saving worth all the trouble?

On a personal note I observed that I used to spend more than your offered salary per month for my family and only one kid at that time. So what is your preference?

1. Accomodation cost (Semi furnished) -

check classified you'll have an idea after you read some. at least you can get the actual price and make an average based on those.

2. Electric Charges -

some times they put water and electicity charges in package with the rent.

3. water charges -

4. Rental car on monthly basis -

depends on what type of car you want.

5. fooding per month for 2 persons -

1000-2000

6. Other charges if any -

7. cheap accomodation near abu hamour area. -

1. Accomodation cost (Semi furnished) - 6 to 7 K. but can find cheaper if willing to live in Wakra or alike

2. Electric Charges - 100 QAR or so

3. water charges - - 80 QAR or so

4. Rental car on monthly basis - 1800 QAR or so

5. fooding per month for 2 persons - 2,000 QAR

6. Other charges if any - of course (i.e. household, clothes, restaurants, etc ... 1000 to 2000

7. cheap accomodation near abu hamour area. -

The prices above are approximate...If accommodation provided it is ok... but if not... it is not good... but it also depends on your current salary... you may also want to consider coming as a bachelor to save money... got both pros and cons

I agree with Soniya,

But Wakra is near to Abu hamour if u take church road and u can save plenty of money on accommodation if u take Ezdan.

rest of the things I agree with Soniya.

1. Semifurnished -- QR 5000 - 6000. But it all depends on the area and locality too..You will get decent 2BHK and i guess FURNISHED ONE in WAKRA area which i am sure would be quite far from your office (as said above)..

2 & 3. Electricity and water --- All depends on your usage..

4. Rent a car on monthly basis must be between QR 1200-1500..

5. Again depends on your type of consumption..If you follow simple lifestyle, it should not go beyond QR 1000-1500 per month.

6. If you wish to have LANDLINE CONNECTION alongwith INERNET..

7. You will get for sure.

There are many who are getting lesser than what you have been offered..:))
