Middle Men or Agents

Hi,

I would just like to know why do we need this so called middle men/agents/marketing guys for getting an accommodation in Qatar.  These guys do nothing else other then to post an add in Qatar Living and show us the room and for that they charge half month commission, they just get to walkaway with our hard earned money just for doing this.  Through my experience these people are also a reason behind the rent hike in Qatar as they control.  Why can't the Owner's, Property Developers or Managements guys advertise for accommodation availability directly, which will also save both parties a lot of time, effort and money in finding a reasonable accommodation to our budget directly insted of going through these middle guys round and round.

I humbly request to all property owners, developers & management to directly advertise the accommodation availability which could help both parties to get what we want without paying extra money to all these middle men.

Others taughts, experience and comments are wellcome

Yes I agree with you I think most are Indians and that to many are not even direct agent there are gangs who calls one and he calls other one and so on. I also had a personal experience when I went to see a portioned villa and asked the marketing guy if the rent can be negotiated then called someone else and that guy told to wait and called someone else and it went to at least 3 to 4 guys to get a reply.

Yes, most of them work illegally. I am sorry to say they are more from India (Kerala) having a huge network of similar illegal business. I really don't like them at all as they make it more expensive to find homes. You can register a complaint in consumer court or call a police before meeting that agent.
