we planned to go there together, how hard would it be for me to get a job in Qatar? what would be the difference if we were married? How hard would be life there for me being just his girlfriend?

Let your boyfriend come firsts, and onced he is settled, then he will give you a visit visa and try your luck here. Coming together is not good since both of you don't know yet what Qatar is...living in Qatar is too expensive..are you guys ready to spend huge amount of monies?...your future husband/bf is still don't know what will turn out after working here in Qatar...and besides it is not allowed here for a woman and a man to live together unless they are married. I don't know if your husband can sponsor you after you both being married. Salary for a man to sponsor family should be 6,000.00 above (if I am not mistaken) and he should be in "family" status....good luck!...

Good grief, lynnie, where did you get the idea that people get their hands chopped off in Qatar!? That's simply NOT true!

It is better to get married and come to Qatar

otherwise

1. You both cannot stay under one roof

2. You cannot come enter the country on his sponsorship.

Mazimum you can do , only to come in a tourist visa

for ONE month

3. No employer will take u in visit visa, once you are

under family status visa, there can be

Getting married and coming in Qatar, is one way a legal protection for you.

hi there.

we are also in this prediciment. as far as im aware, you will not be allowed into the country unless you have a visa or someone who will sponsor you, your bf will be sponsored by his employer but he will n ot be able to sponsor you unless you are married.

it is possible for you to enter the country if you find a job b4 you go there as they will sponsor you.

i did think of doing this but to be honest there are too many grey areas.it is qatari law that single ppl of opposite sexes cannot live together, all it takes is one person to find out and tell the authorities and you and your partner could/probably would be deported.

my opinion is that"when in rome...", you should respect the countries laws and do it by the book, dont forget this is a country where ppl still have their hands chopped off for stealing, killed for rape etc..altough these are few and far between!

we are having a small civil wedding with just family for now and next year still planning our proper wedding.

hope this info helps a bit.

good luck

Qatar is an Open Country,No body will ask if you were married.

The Problem just you can not be on his sponsor ship because you are not his wife.

Send me your CV and I might find you a Job at my Company.

Regards,
