From Arabian Business - 4May2008
According to the poll of 17 economists and analysts.

Inflation in Qatar - which froze rents this year to control prices - will still be the region's highest this year, averaging 13.8%, on par with 2007, and easing to 13.3% in the fourth quarter.

As the cost of living increases and the standard of living decreases, Companies in Qatar will have an impossible task of attracting people with the current packages being offered, and more people currently residing in Qatar will decide to leave for greener pastures.

Mmmm, it is interesting the number of people who have decided to pull out the last couple of weeks.  I wonder if some sort of critical mass has been reached to cause the dissatisfaction level to be high enough that people leave.

We're waiting to see the school fees for 2008/2009, I thought the MOE fixed the increases at no more than 10% a year. But they went up more than that the last 2 years.

Qatar froze rents this year to control prices?  My friends staying in two 3-bedroom apartments in Al-Sadd saw their rents being increased from QR11k to QR16k just two weeks ago!  There is too much greed and blatant ignorance of the decrees.  Perhaps they should introduce the Rent Control Act here... but it's not going to work here, is it? So whose fault is it then?
