Quality of QTel Mozaic

Hi everyone, I have got 2 queries.

I am thinking of getting QTel Mozaic package so I can get TV, internet and phone all in one package. I am wondering if someone can tell me from their experience about QTel Mozaic service; how good it is in terms of performance, operation and quality? Does the internet for 1 Mbps enough or should I get 2 Mbps internet, considering that I usually use it to stream online videos on youtube, video chatting on skype and watching movies online on live streaming. Will 1 Mbps be able to handle such load or I have to go for 2 Mbps? Does the TV channels work fine, as in do they go down quite often like once every week or once every fortnight? Also the QTel maintenance team quite effective or subscribers have to wait for hours and days before they fix the problem once it arrives? Please help me out with your experience.

I live in Al Sadd (very close to Royal Plaza) if someone needs to know that to predict the quality and performance of QTel.

Thanks in anticipation for your kind help. Regards.

Feel sorry for you nzr70, may be call them at off-peak time, such as after 11 PM. Remember this service is operational for 24 hours 7 days a week. Best of Luck!

Installed Mozaic for the UK Premiership football but the quality was so bad I didn't bother getting the channel. Internet drops every 20minutes at the weekend and TV drops twice/night. Called 111 every month, raised ticket and QTEL closes the ticket without sending any engineers. QTEL promise to call back and never do. QTel refuse to credit for the service until 12 months are up, then you can cancel only. Worst service I have ever experienced.

Having experienced broadband and satellite in the UK and NZ I have to say that Mozaic is truly awful.

The only positive aspect is the uncapped broadband, which we do not have in NZ. It means I can leave my laptop downloading overnight and keep up to date with all the TV I want.

The poor channel choices would be bad enough but it is the picture and sound quality that really amazes me especially on the football package (which is the only reason we went for it).

When you watch a TV show downloaded in HD and then switch back to the TV it's like watching under water.

The football is the worst, you can barely make out what is going on.

Once our year is up I will get rid of it and try something else.

For a megarich country it's telecoms industry is laughable.

without a shodow of a doubt... go for osn. With Mozaic nothing but trouble, poor quality of image and even poorer of sound on some channels. Service of QTEL is appaling.

OSN installed in no time. Good quality and no issues. It is, in my opinion , a "no brainer"

Cheers

The quality of QTEL network might depends in specific Location, just like in my area in Madinath Khalifa South, I'm having a Bad signal with QTEL Mozaic; most of the time the service is hung/freeze, need to reset the modem from time to time its really irritated. Considering there is a QTEL tower nearby.

1 Mbps is not bad I am able to watch some streaming video online and the quality of picture is good.

I only have two serious problems with them: Signal is freezing/hang and other channels of mozaic is not available sometimes.

It's just so happen that we don't have no choice than to go with QTEL.

I Hope they continuously improve their service.

Insha-ahlah!

hi there...well, it depends upon the area u live if qtel exchange is near u can get good picture quality also no drop outs...in few areas ppl are really suffering with mozaic..better u check with ur neighbors...also qtel have copper based network now and these kind of network hardly support IPTV...if ur neighbors are not happy then just go for ADSL and wait for FTTH....moreover u can call 111 and ask feasibility if u r 800 meters away from exchange it is ok and just go for it...else go for ADSL only.

good luck

its really sucks big time.. since it bandwidth has something to do with the streaming TV... so expect quality and speed will drop most especially if your speed is 1mb?

I am staying in Old Airport area and I feel it was a mistake to go for Mozaik. Picture quality is very bad. Its just like the milk is supplied through the drainage. Some of the channels are always got struck. I complained couple of times but the guy came and said problem solved. But within 24 hours, the same problem is happening. Better to ask your neighbours about the quality of the service in your area.

Both above opinions are so different from each other that now I am even more confused on whether to go for it or not ??? Hopefully people who have been using it recently will have something nice to say about QTel Mozaic service too like Riswin.Ashraf. Thanks anyway for your opinions.

The price/quality is good but honestly I have decided to pay more and get OSN.

Since they have improved their responsiveness, expect to have it installed within 7 working days.

we used to have qtel broadband at home but changed it due to net getting dropped. then we switched to qtel mozaic and hasnt lookd back since. the guys came within two days of application (we live in messaieed) and did the job well in 15 minutes...bet speed is so much better and the wireless is a bliss. wifi my phone, and all laptops at home, playstation3, all work without a glitch. mozaic tv is excellent too. offers a lot of OSN channels...and aljazeera, a couple from India as well...and world cup crickt...!! dont think much further bro...if you can afford it, go for it. we havent had an issue on it so cant say much about service issue. if u want to stream movies without waiting, go for 2 mbps...for the rest of your needs, 1 mbps is more than enough. download speed has been seen upto 160 kbps. with browsing speed showing at speedtest.net as 1 mbps. so i guess their download allotment is 20%.

hope this helped...all the best.

Biggest mistake I made.

6 weeks to get it installed. (10 minute job). Had 1Mbps and had lots of drop outs. Bad quality of picture. Internet blackouts. Upgraded to 2Mbps. Makes no difference to speed of internet or quality of service. As for the internet onscreen. Don't even bother. I could communicate in semaphore quicker. Overpriced service from an overpriced provider.

Harrrumphhhh.

The above opinion is mine and mine only. You may have a better experience than I did. Best of luck if you choose this overhyped product.
